"I purchased this trip for my husband, Taylor's birthday because he had been wanting to go fly fishing. We had a wonderful time. Our fishing guide, Darrell Lundberg, was excellent. He made us both feel very comfortable. He made me feel at ease and confident in my abilities, which is great since I had never been fly fishing before. He reminded me of my grandpa. All of the River Run Outfitter staff were very warm and welcoming and Darrell was a wonderful guide."

"Fished with guide Dana Lindsey on May 5th. Another outstanding fishing experience provided by River Run Outfitters. Stan and Carolyn run a First Class operation. If the fish are biting their staff of guides will find them. Dana is one of the best and does everything possible to ensure his clients have a pleasurable experience. He knows his stuff in regards to finding fish and always brings plenty of snacks and refreshments."

"On May 11, Stan and I embarked on a trip down the river with lots of water being dumped from the Table Rock Dam. Stan seemed to have the right combination of flies at each spot we stopped and despite the roaring river we caught lots of fish. If I could have kept my eye on the strike indicator I would have caught many more. These water conditions require someone with the knowledge, skill and experience that the river requires and "Stan is the Man". It was an enjoyable and rewarding experience."

"My wife and I are novice fly fishermen, having done 1 charter and a couple of attempts on our own in the past. Carolyn was very patient and helpful in getting my wife casting better than ever before. Then we spent several hours in a drift boat with Stan where he put us on better fishing than we have ever experienced. As conditions changed Stan changed with them to keep us boating fish.
Overall, a great day that began a month earlier when I called to book the trip. Carolyn called back to verify a couple weeks later because she was afraid there was a problem with a double booking. There wasn't, but the personal service was much appreciated."

"We fished with Stan and Carolyn for 3 days reently and the fishing was superb! Neither of has fished these tailwaters before and were pleasantly surprised. The Taneycomo or White River is full of nice trout! Stan put us on fish right away and fished midges under an indicator, streamers and learned soft hackle technique. We floated and waded and really had a great trip. The cabins behind the shop are a perfect match for the fishing. Stan, Carolyn and the staff know how to get it done. This trip was one of the best-Well Done!"

"I've spent my whole life with a love for fishing. But the last 14 have included an effort to cultivate that same love in my daughters, who are now 14 and 11. I've had good luck, but it's been with baits, then lures. It was time to try fly fishing.
We could not have had a better first experience. River Run Outfitters provided a wonderful trip. Our guide, Gina Leitle, took the time to teach the girls about everything from rod to fly and patiently taught how to cast, hook, land and release the trout. She was well-informed, funny and kind; she overflowed with a passion for fly fishing that was contagious.
All the equipment River Run Outfitters provided was top notch, from waders to tackle. Gina also packed coffee for me and snacks for the girls. Talk about prepared and organized! We caught almost a couple dozen rainbows on that morning. Most people look for a guide to catch fish. I needed somebody who could use fish to catch a couple of fly fishergirls. Gina helped me land two beauties. No catch and release, though. They are hooked for life!"

"I have fished with Stan the Man 3 times and that should probably say it all. These have been 3 of the best trips I have ever taken and would strongly recommend that any wanting a great trout float fishing exprience can find none better. I, and my friends will be back. It is not wild Wyoming but these people are great."

"My wife and I have used River Run Guides for over 10 years and have never had a bad trip. Even though this was a last minute trip it turned out to be one of the best fishing trips we have experienced anywhere in the country. Carolyn made all elements of the trip pleasant including a wondeful lunch. Even when strong winds came up later in the day she maintained perfect boat control and helped us keep on fishing and catching. We netted over 100 quality trout. She knew exactly what fly to use and when to switch. We never stopped catching fish. The entire operation at River Run is First Class, from reservations,instruction,equipment, supplies,and willingness to share their knowledge."

"I was heading to MO for a conference and found River Run here on Orvis. I contacted them about fishing one day and maybe taking a tying lesson if the weather was terrible (this was in February). Carolyn got me set up at one of the cabins behind the shop that night, taking a tying class in the morning, and fishing that afternoon.
So first, the cabin. It was awesome! I really couldn't believe how nice it was. For a guy who stays in a lot of hotel rooms, this place made me feel at home. As a bonus, the place was stocked with fishing DVDs and magazines.
Shannon, who met me at the shop the day I arrived, taught the tying class the next morning. I should probably state that I am a saltwater fisherman; so this whole experience was much different than what I know. Shannon did a great job of explaining the techniques and materials for tying these tiny flies. Overall, it made me a better at tying flies and gave me a new perspective.
Stan took me out fishing that afternoon and I couldn't have had more fun. We fished with indicators, streamers, and soft hackle. Stan is so knowledgeable and laid back; he made learning some totally new easy and fun. Most importantly Stan loves to fish and he's a purist; learning from him left me feeling accomplished at the end of the day.
Most importantly I want you, the prospective fisherman to know that if you don't have trout gear or if you are from down south (like myself) don't worry about it. These guys provided waders, rods, and made the whole trip EASY.

"Only had time for a half day trip, but Stan made it feel like it was a full one. Started catching rainbow's almost as soon as we hit the water. My friend Ken and I caught around 40 on our short trip. Fish were hitting everything red. And don't worry about being a novice Stan gives good instruction and is very patient. Try it you'll enjoy it!"

"My wife and I planned a guided float trip the week before we arrived. The weather plans looked grim and Carolyn was flexable enough to take us out the day we showed up. She provided outstanding instruction for my wife and my wife really enjoyed the time on the water. Because of her layed back guiding methods I was able to do the best I ever did on Taneycomo. I landed 41 rainbows and my wife landed 24 using midges, TQs and soft-hackle flys. Great experience for both of us!!"

"Keeping this short and to the point. Freezing sleet did not dampen this trip. 19 trout in a 1/2 day trip is awesome. The trout were even hitting the indicator. Three fish were over 14 inches. Dana did a amazing job on this float trip."
