"The Aspens were in full color and the browns were at their fall peak as well. The Cimarron was at its best and provided non stop action all day.A nice 20" rainbow in the last pool topped it all off."

"Two great days of fishing private waters on the Cimmaron River in northern New Mexico. Doc is an excellent guide and instructor. You couldn't find a better person to share the waters. His instructions will enable me to advance my fly fishing experience."

"Doc took us to private access points on the Cimarron. Water a bit off color, but no problem. Good solid advice on where to place your fly--which he supplied. This man loves the land, the water and the company. Book him and you won't be sorry!"

"Another great day on the Cimarron with Doc! We spend several weeks per year enjoying NM, but the times I spend on the river with Doc are always the highlight of these trips. He is a great teacher and is making me into a decent fly fisherman."

"Doc guided us for two days. We fished both private water (Cimarron) and public water (Rio Costilla)and had a great time on both. Doc provided a lot of education and had a great knack for working with us as beginners. Lunch was excellent on top of everything else. Great trip!"

"Doc guided me on some private water on the Cimmaron for the second time. We caught a good number of nice Browns and a few Rainbows. A couple of the Rainbows were very nice in size, especially in comparison to the size of the stream. Doc really put me on the fish, while providing great instruction and some fly entomology education as well. Lunch was excellent as was the commaraderie. I highly recommend Doc Thompson."

"Had an awesome trip on the Cimarron with Doc. Was extremely knowledgeable not only with the equipment but the waters as well. He went into great detail on explaining the ins and out of stalking and finding trout in crystal clear shallow water. Would recommend him for all levels of experience."

"I spent a day on the Rio Costilla with Doc. I love adding native trout species to my life list and Doc did a great job showing me the nuances of Rio Grande cuts on the Costilla. Knowledgeable, patient, generous and the lunch was superb!!!!! I would book a trip with Doc again in an instant."

"We spent one day on the Cimmaron and another on Rio Costilla. Doc did a great job of mixing a great fishing experience with learning how to read the water and presenting the fly. We returned one day without Doc to the Rio Costilla and I doubled my fish count. Now that's a great teacher!
I will definitely use Doc again."

"I take my two grandsons fishing with Doc in Red River every year. On the way back from fishing with Doc I ask them "did you learn anything?" They tell me what they learned. I knew they had a great days on the rivers by observation.

"Doc taught me so much about trout fishing. I have heard Doc speak about trout fishing at previous Orvis events, but actually being on the water and learning to read the water and to fish the water was a great day for me! I have been fly fishing for almost 20 years, and Doc enhanced my trout fishing, not just for the day, but for the rest of my life, and I fish a lot!"

"Amazing day on the Rio Costilla. Beautiful blue skies, a cool breeze, and the best guide in New Mexico at your shoulder. Doc was wonderful with my 11 year old son who is just learning the art of fly fishing. We both had a blast and learned so much at the same time. You won't be disappointed."
