"I had an incredible day on the water with Ried Baker! As an experienced Colorado Angler I am always looking for new places to fish. I have fished several times at Deckers, but Ried was able to take me to some new places to fish. His patience during the trout search was amazing. Due to the larger than normal fishing crowds on the river he was still able to keep his cool and find us some uncrowded spots. It says alot about him as a guide.
I was happy to see him picking up trash and putting out an unattended fire we saw burning near the river."

"we had plans to fish private water but that section of the river was unexpectedly blown out. we regroupled and had a great day fishing down stream in silverthorne. Dave worked incredibly hard to get us into fish on a challenging day."

"In almost twenty years of fly fishing, I have to say yesterday was one of my best fishing days ever thanks to Dave Lovell and Freestone Outfitters. Conditions were tough on the North Fork of the South Platte, but Dave did a great job helping read the water and put me on to some of the best trout I've ever caught. Numbers and quality of fish were everything I hoped for and more. Dave's attitude, patience, and humor all helped make it a day to remember!"

"With a spring snow storm coming, I wasn't sure what kind of trip to expect. Dave had planned perfectly, giving me a great mix of Colorado scenery technical coaching...oh, and we caught some spectacular fish too! Dave knows the water well and is an excellent instructor, able to communicate and patient. I will definitely fish with him again."

"We hired our guide to experience the YR Ranch fishery on the Blue River. When we arrived it was blown out and not fishable. Our guide gave us several other options and bent over backwards to make sure that we ended up with a suitable plan that we were comfortable with. We ended up on the Blue R below the dam in Silverthorne and had a tough day, but caught several very nice fish. Our guide worked very hard and put in extra effort on the day."

""I booked a guided trip for 9 guys who all flew into town for my boyfriends 30th Birthday and Dave and the Freestone crew taking them out on the water for a day of fly fishing was easily the highlight of everybody's trip out to Denver. Nobody in the group had flying fishing experience and by the end of the day everybody had caught more than 2 fish a piece. Dave, Marty and Scott were committed to two things, having a great time and catching fish. All the guys received 1:1 coaching on their cast and technique and the guides were extremely hands on and helpful. The location was absolutley amazing and even though it was on public waters we felt secluded and were able to stay relatively close together as a group. This was an amazing experience for everbody and I would highly recommend Freestone to angler's who want the CO experience or to people who just want to learn something new and have a great time. Far exceeded my expectations and blew every chartered trip I've take completely out of the water. AMAZING!!""

"I was ten weeks out of knee replacement surgery and was concerned I'd need assistance getting back into the river. I got back with guide (Reed) at my side until we quickly realized I did not need help. Great day fishing. Great guided day fishing. Outstanding water and a guide who as I expected went above and beyond. I'd fish the YR again in a heartbeat."

"A friend and I just enjoyed a fun winter day's fishing on the lower Blue River with guide Dave Lovell. Even though it was snowing heavily when we met Dave, he was upbeat and got us excited to get to the water and get after the fish. Despite the cold, blustery day we both got into a number of very nice fish with, of course, the largest getting away!
Dave had a very positive and friendly attitude and remained very focused on us and the fishing the entire day. Really he was treat to be with on the water.
I've been on a number of guided trips all over the country and I'd have to say that Dave was probably my favorite to fish with to date. He has a solid, but gentle, teaching style. This was instrumental in teaching us how to fish the river in those conditions and how to fight and land large trout (which we both successfully did).
All in all it was a great day. I'd go out with Dave again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend Freestone Outfitters."

"Lots of big migratory fish and the action kept us busy throughout the day as we fished a half mile stretch. I was pleased with my catch. My buddy nailed two huge Rainbows. A windy day and just a bit cold but very satisfying. Reid kept us moving and made it fun. Only my second time fly fishing and I'm itching to get out with the good folks at Freestone again. After seeing the photos, my nine year old daughter is wearing me out to learn to fly fish."

"These guys are great. It's clear they know fishing and know how to handle the water. They are easy to be around and a lot of fun to work with. We ended up catching so many fish we all lost count! "Reid Baker with Freestone Outfitters was our guide last Friday. What a day! big, big fish, great weather and a superior learning experience. Reid was attentive and engaging. I never felt like he was standing over my shoulder or left out.He listened to all my questions and gave me thoughtful, often repeated, answers.What I also liked was the way he never gave a clinic. He answered specific questions and if I needed to take it further he'd answer by widening the scope of the discussion.
Technically Reid was also really good. He knew when to make a quick bug change to see if.. He also had an excellent knowledge of the river and did a lot of spotting for all of us.
What makes a good guide great? When he has as much fun as you do. Reid loves what he does and it spilled over to all of us and made for a truly memorable trip. Thanks Reid."

"great day even in some challenging weather. we were into fish most of the day though we often had to really work a run the payoff in the end was worth it. lots a quality fish and two very big fish in the net. pretty certain we were into at least three other big fish but did not close the deal. reid did a great job keeping us active and moving and landing fish. nymphs, drys and streamers so we tried it all. well done all around."

"I decided to take my son, Dillon, on his first fly fishing trip. My expectations were not high but I hoped that Dillon would catch a few fish. Needless to day I was blown away when we were catching huge fish ALL DAY. Our guide, Reid, was excellent with Dillon as he taught him the basics of fly fishing and then he put him on the fish. I could not have asked for a better day of fishing and the memories that we made that day. It was nothing short of awesome - and yes I caught a few myself."
