"Took a great fall trip with Steve. This was my first trip fly fishing. He is a great guide and instructor. While he has an incredible amount of knowledge he also knows how to stand back and let you work on your casting without constantly coaching. As a novice, I appreciated this immensely. Not only did I learn a lot from his instruction (and my many mistakes) but I really enjoyed the morning on the water with him as well."

"My fly fishing trip with Steve Hollensed on Oct. 16, 2012 was very successful for me.This was my fourth trip with Steve and every trip we have caught fish. This trip we fished with Orvis Depth Charge line. I had never done this before. Steve was a very good instructor on all aspects of this fishing. Used a Orvis 9wt rod and large Orbor reel. This was a pleasure to fish with and along with Steve's instruction I caught a very large fish. I was very proud of the fish and look forward to fishing with Steve and Orvis equipment again."

"The weather forecast called for "breezy" condtions, an understatement to say the least.
However with safety in mind Steve worked the condtions to our advantage. It be one of the best days I have had the any guide,catching Stripers,Smallmouth and a exceptional 5.5 lb largemouth. I own 25-30 fly rods and Steve is the only guide I don't feel the need to take any of my own equipment. Steve provides clean, organized tackle with back-ups for all situations."

"A storm blew thru North Texas the evening before we went out greatly affected our success. However, we had a beautiful day on the water and Steve did everything he could to locate not only stripers but smallmouths as well.
Steve taught my son and I how to cast with a depth charge line - not easy but we got the hang of it. Steve also spent some time correcting flaws in our casting and taught me how to double haul. Looking forward to our next trip with Steve."

"Steve works hard to find the surfacing stripers and keep you on them for great top water action. He also taught us how to cast various weighted fly lines in order to reach the deeper fish. We also caught sand bass, largemouth, and smallmouth bass. He is a master fly casting instructor and an expert on fly fishing for stripers on Texoma and had everything we needed for a successful trip."

"Each time I fish with Steve I learn new things. Techniques, info about fish, the environ we are fishing even just interesting info about the area.

"My son and I fished for a day and a half with Steve The first morning we got into a nice school of surface crashing bass . Then a north wind came up (probably courtesy of Hurricane Isaac ) and the school disappeared .We searched everywhere but couldn't find any breaking fish .Steve turned lemons into lemonade and taught me how to fish the bottom with the Depth Charge integrated sinking shooting head line. I should also mention that my son had had very little prior experience fly fishing and Steve had him casting very respectible loops in no time at all .
The second day , the wind had shifted to the west as Steve predicted , and it was Katie bar the door ! We had non stop action all morning long .My left arm was sore from stripping poppers .I lost count of the fish but we had multiple doubles .
Steve knows this fishery extremely well and is a great instructor I think my son Dave is hooked for life .I would do this trip again in a heartbeat .I am also looking forward to fishing for Smallmouth on Texoma when I next visit my son in Fort Worth. Steve says the Smallmouth fishing is excellent and in my experience , he knows whereof he speaks"

"My husband took me to Lake Texoma yesterday to fish with Steve Holensed. He had fished with Steve 3 weeks ago, and said it was a great trip where he and his buddy caught 50 fish. Well, this was even better, because we caught well over 100 fish with more than 25 double hookups. It was crazy. My hands and arms hurt from fighting and landing so many fish. Steve was the perfect host. He helped me with my casting and kept us in fish all day long. Thank you Steve for the best fishing trip I have ever been on, and I have been fishing for over 50 years."

"Steve was the absolute best! He put Mr. Morgan and me on quality fish (striper) early and often. In addition, during a lull in the fishing, he took the time to show this fly fishing rookie the finer points of fly casting. He is both an excellent guide and teacher. I'm sure he had to be cringing as I scrambled to get my popper in the water that was churning with schooling stripers! It can be difficult to remember techinique when there are quality fish to be caught!
I highly recommend Steve and his excellent services to anyone with a fly fishing interest, whether you're an amateur like me or an experienced angler.
I can't wait to go again!"

"What a day, Started off some what slow, but we had our hands full of those aggressive stripers after lunch. My friend Sir John Davis, his first trip for stripers with fly rod had a huge day with over 30 fish. I got 35 till I was just to tired to go any father. Well worth the amount paid as Steve in his professional way showed us the way to do it and we had a great time.We booked already for next year same time and and lake
