River Through Atlanta Guides, GA

In business since 1994, River Through Atlanta Guide Service offers guided drift boat and wade excursions for brown and rainbow trout through 48 miles of designated trout water with 10,000 linear acres of National Park lands. Flora and fauna abound, with sighting of bald eagles, great blue herons, white-tailed deer, mink, otters, and much more. The waters we fish show documented natural reproduction of brown and rainbow trout, and offer seasonal angling opportunities for shoal and striped bass, as well as carp, during summer and fall on the lower reaches of the river. Our latitude makes for both a mild summer and winter with year-round fishing opportunities.

"A friend and mine, Brandon and I tried fly fishing for the first time in July 2013 on a saturday with our guide Chris Scalley. Chris taught us the the beginning technique to fly fishing so that we have a good foundation to work with. Within 15 minutes we started catching rainbow trout. By the time we finished up, we both caught around 7 to 8 fish each which was awesome. I am already looking to buy my first rod and reel and get out there again. - Thanks Chris."

"I did a day trip in March with guide John Scalley on the "Hootch" in one of their drift boats equipped with a jet. We were on the water for 9 hours and did not see another person. We did see a ton of wildlife (including a heard of deer crossing the river) and trout. If you didn’t know better you would guess we were on a river out west not in metro Atlanta. John has 30 years of experience on this river and is a full time, year round guide. I started the trip as a novice fly fisherman and now have the confidence and knowledge of this tail water of an intermediate. John would be equally suited to guide an expert. The equipment and company was outstanding and I am planning another trip with him this spring. Oh yeah, did I mention the fishing was great."
