As one of the oldest and most famous fly-fishing lodges in the country, Weatherby's origins stem from the nineteenth century, and have become a way of life for many sportsmen looking for a remote, quality fishing experience. The Grand Lake Stream region of Downeast Maine is renowned for some of the best smallmouth bass, landlocked salmon, and lake trout fishing in the world! Restricted to fly fishing only, three mile long Grand Lake Stream offers fantastic brook trout and salmon fishing throughout the summer. Hatches are prolific beginning in late May. And although we are famous for our caddis, the stream is home to great numbers and variations of mayflies, stones, and alder flies. Our smallmouth waters within a short distance of the lodge are numerous, undeveloped, uncrowded and boast superb fisheries. Extended seasons allow stream and lake fishing through October. We are committed to making your vacation not just a trip - but an experience- one that you will want to pass along to your children and grandchildren. Corporate groups gladly accommodated.

"Stayed at Weatherbys several times and enjoyed each stay. The service and food are great. It is walking distance from the stream and Jeff gives very helpful advice on where to go and what to flies to use. I have brought first time fly fishers with me on some trips and everybody thouroghly enjoyed their time at Weatherbys. I plan on many more visits."
