Belize Bonefish Bonanza

This part of Belize is one of the best places to get a saltwater "Grand Slam": bonefish; permit; and tarpon in one day. The flats are extensive and the lodge is well located so you don't have to travel far to be on the fish, although they go on endlessly north to the border with Mexico.

"My husband and I recently spent 9 days at El Pescador Lodge in Belize. The staff made us feel very special and treated us like family. The rooms (and bathrooms) were very comfortable and clean. Our fishing guide was excellent. Even though tarpon, bonefish, and permit are the sought after fish, many other species are caught. The food was terrific. We liked the seating style for meals because it encouraged conversation with other lodge guests. We met many wonderful people from all over the United States. This was our third trip to El Pescador and we will certainly be returning next year."

"I took a group of my customers to El Pescadore in mid-March. Everyone, even our beginners, caught fish every day. The guides were terrific. They were all very professional and truly dedicated to putting us on fish under really difficlut circumstances. During our stay we faced 20 -35 knot winds every day and casting was a challenge to say the least. Under those conditions I would have given the guides a pass if we'd gotten skunked but no-one came back to the lodge without pictures and memories.
I should add that the entire staff is among the best I've found at any destination. Without exception everyone at the lodge knew all of the guest's names by breakfast of the morning after we arrived. They were so genuinely friendly that we felt like more like friends and family than customers.
I titled this "A Great Full Service Lodge" for a reason. I knew in this economy I'd have trouble filling this trip without something for non-fishers to do. The lodge offers day sails, scuba and snorkeling, trips to the interior to see Mayan ruins and many other adventures for anyone not obsessed with fly fishing. You really could entertain the entire family through an extended stay.
This is a trip you and anyone you bring will remember."

"I have traveled to many destinations and by far, going with Orvis is the only way to go. I was ready in just a couple of days with my packing list which didn't leave anything out. Jason and Tyler did a great job of answering any questions I had and made great suggestions of future trips. My trip to El Pescador was the best experience I have had and I will be there again. El Pescador's service blew me away. I felt like family and I miss them all. The whole atmosphere there is something to cherish. I knew everyone's, including guests, name and they knew mine. The fishing experience was top notch and the staff was helpful and made you feel at home. If you are thinking of a trip of a lifetime, you will make El Pescador a lifetime of trips. The sad part was the day I left. I'm already gearing up now to head back. Thanks to all of you at Orvis Travel and El Pescador Lodge for introducing me to the place I will be spending many vacations at in the future."
