Bair's Lodge, The Bahamas
Andros Island is known as the bonefish capitol of the world, and many experts say that the flats of South Andros are the best of the best. If you're looking for a small lodge with owners who really know fly-fishing, Bair's Lodge gets our vote for the best place to stay in this area. Bair's Lodge on Little Creek is all about fly-fishing, and you can't find a friendlier place in the Bahamas.

"Hi Jason,
The lodge was great, especially the food and wine. The fishing was also very good, however, we had a cold front go through for a couple of days and you know that bonefish do not like cold water temperatures. But no one can control the weather especially in January and that is why you go for a week so you have time for the good and not as good days. I caught my largest bonefish to date, a 24.5 inch fish of around 7lbs. We also had a doubleheader, lots of 18”-22” fish and a 16lb barracuda on a popper. We also saw green sea turtles, the US coast Guard helicopter and many different birds.
We had the lodge all to ourselves, as we were the only guests. The managers only showed up for the last couple of days, which was a bit different. However, Lita the assistant manager did an excellent job.
As we did not have a chance to wade fish, due to the weather, I would like to return someday to experience that. The guides were very good and nice guys. Leslie and Harlon were our favorites.
Anyway, great vacation. We are looking forward to our next saltwater trip. Thanks again for your assistance in making it special.

"I had a thoroughly enjoyable time staying and fishing at Bair's Lodge on South Andros. The hospitality at the lodge and the company of the other anglers was outstanding. Our fishing ranged from 2-5 tailing bonefish back in the mangroves to schools of hundreds on the flats and everything in between. My fishing partner and I had several periods during our four days of fishing where while he was landing a fish I stepped up on the bow to cast to more fish and this was repeated numerous times. I have been to South Andros before and plan to continue to make it a regular trip."
