Deep Water Cay, The Bahamas
Deep Water Cay was created in 1958 as a fishing lodge. Numerous upgrades, additions and improvements over the years have made it what it is today, an intimate upscale resort, appealing to discriminating travelers from around the world. With a wide variety of activities, upscale accommodations, and expertly prepared local cuisine, anglers and non-anglers alike can both enjoy themselves at Deep Water Cay. Despite also being an ideal vacation destination for divers, snorkelers and beachcombers, the owners, managers and staff have continued their tradition of providing visiting anglers with a world class fishing experience. The fly fishing in the Bahamas program is better now than it's ever been, and is one of our favorite picks for serious anglers, that also like to be comfortable.

"We booked again because Orvis and H2O provided us with a great vacation. The planning by Orvis was flawless; from the communications prior, to booking through the transfers and our connections at the destination. H2O was a great host and the guides were wonderful. We especially like relaxing outside at the bar enjoying cocktails and hors d’oeuvres after a day on the flats. We also liked the atmosphere at Port Lucaya."

""Considering that a hurricane hit the lodge a week befor our arrival, Orvis travel did a great job keeping us informed of the status. The lodge managers and the other staff did a great job having things ready for our arrival. Other than some damaged plants and a few shingles missing you would not have realized that a hurricane had just hit there. Fishing and wildlife was outstanding.""

"My husband ( the fisherman) and I have just returned from DWC and were delighted with everything about it. The lodge itself was very nice and the separate cottages very comfortable....but the PEOPLE are what make your trip! The managers, staff, and guides all went above and beyond to make our trip special. Lisa, Bill, and George were great hosts. The food was plentiful and excellent! My husband was a " first time " bone fisherman, and he found his guides, Meko and William to be great teachers and very patient .....therefore, he had a successful trip and caught fish....even in the rain! I, being the non-fisherman, found DWC to be the perfect place for relaxing around their beautiful pool, reading, or beach combing.
We highly recommend DWC!"
