Small Hope Bay Lodge, The Bahamas
Take off and explore the natural beauty that is Andros at Small Hope Bay Lodge, a small, unpretentious resort that has been owned and operated by the Birch family for the past 50 years. Andros Island is the largest and least developed island in The Bahamas. A coral limestone formation, the island is dominated by thick bush, hardwood and pine forests. There are more than 40 known species of wild orchids on Andros, as well as endemic and migrating bird and butterfly populations. In addition to wildlife, Andros abounds in blue holes (underwater cave systems)--which have been the scene of some of the deepest underwater cave explorations in the world.

"We just returned from our second trip to Small Hope bay Lodge in Andros Bahamas. The bonefishing capitol of the world as far as we are concerned. The Lodge takes care of your every need, everything is included, including all the alcohol you can drink. The lodgings are perfect, with only 20 or so cabanas, right on an amazing bay, with beautiful sights. The bonefishing is unparalleled, and only a 5 minute ride from the lodge. We fished mostly at Fresh creek, and easily caught 2 dozen bonefish per pay, averaging 5 lbs. The guides are excellent and put you on bonefish all day. Also, the lodge sets you up with an amazing lunch, and you just go to the open bar and fill up the ice chest with as many beers, and sodas that you want. Then back to the lodge for a dip in the warm water, cocktails etc at the palapa bar on the ocean, appetizers, and then the chef comes out to tell you the nights dinner which is served outside under the stars, with a wineglass that is never left empty. The meals are excellent, from the breakfast of eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, grits, fresh fruit, breads and juice and coffee, to dinners of lobster, grilled rib eye, potatoes, rice, salads, and homemade deserts. If you want a no nonsense vacation where you can dive, and fish, and never worry about a thing, Small hope bay lodge is the place to go."

"Nov., 2012 was my fourth or fifth bone fishing trip to Small Hope Bay Lodge on Andros in the past 15 years. The lodge and food are wonderful. The staff is even better. The fishing is challenging and rewarding. Thanks to the extremely knowledgeable and helpful guides, Glister and Jeff I have actually used over all these years, we have caught fish every day there. Couple these advantages with the unique all-inclusive pricing structure of Small Hope, and you have the makings for your best fishing trip ever."

"Small Hope Bay was perfect vacation -- with a mix of great Bahamas bonefishing, scuba diving, and lounging on the beach at an inclusive resort. Site fishing for bonefish off the Andros keys was truly amazing. During the days we went diving, the water was extremely clear and the coral reef beautiful. Definitely plan on going again! Extraordinary staff."

"Andros Island is possibly the best destination for trophy size bonefish ... pound per pound strongest fish in the ocean.
I visited the backwaters of Andros while at Small Hope Bay during the Christmas Holidays... and fishing was simply fantastic! Enjoy !!!"
