"I like this shirt and the color (red/black small check) is unique - the available colors are one of the nicer things about them.
The shirt washes up well and if hung dry and flattened will not need ironing. The fabric seems decent.
However, the price compared to some other quality brands is high. I bought a flannel shirt from another maker at the same time - it is just as nicely made - also China - and it was not nearly as expensive. The cost of these shirts is difficult to justify unless one of the colors is a must have.
I would have ordered another - wanted to, but now, late in the season, substantially better deals are out there on sale."

"The flannel is nice and warm for upstate New York winters.
The color combination for this one is really handsome. Brown and charcoal with light tones in between. I feel splendid in it, like a Parisian lumberjack. It manages to be manly and pretty. I get compliments when I wear it."

"I really had high hopes for this shirt after reading the reviews. It is soft, it is made fairly well, cut right and washes fairly well with minimal touch up.
My issues are all the positives of shirt do not live up to the price, $139, especially when imported."

"Very pleased with this shirt. Quality, comfort, lovely colour ways, and good looks. Full price is too much. Nearly £100 for a shirt is crackers. 20% off in sale made it realistic (just). Orvis need to rethink pricing if they want to keep most of their long term customers in UK IMHO"

"Pros: (1) Quality throughout - stitching, quality of fabric (best I have ever seen in a flannel shirt), tolerance to wash (follow instructions), color stability; (2) patten matching - sleeve to sleeve, front of shirt where buttoned is a perfect pattern match to uninterrupted areas of fabric; (3) sizing matches all other ORVIS men's top garments I have purchased; (4) style - colors and patterns "go with" a wide variety of pants and coats/jackets as well as jeans to slacks; (5) weight - perfect for all but summer throughout the Northern US.
CONS - none that I have found within the first week of wear (2 washes)."
