Pink Salmon on Shooting Star Spey Rod
"Bought this rod along with the interchangeable line loaded on a Battenkill Large Arbor VI two days before a 3 week trip to Alaska. Learned to spey cast by watching the recommended DVD and much time for on-the-water practice.
Rod casts great once you get the hang of the motion and method. Casts extremely far, nearly able to cast entire fly line.
Capable of turing over large weighted flies with ease.
Caught lots of nice pink salmon on this rod; didn't hook up with a nice king like I'd hoped; but believe the rod would fair great against one.
A great addition to the tackle library for anyone looking to fish big water or surf in a whole new way."
