The Czech Mate Nymph pattern is used to imitate a number of different trout foods such as a scud or caddis larva. These scud nymphs are very common in fast riffle water and commonly used by Europeans in their tight line nymphing techniques. Add a bit of weight to get these flies down in the riffles and then pull the fly up to the surface on the swing to imitate them swimming to the surface to emerge. Color, Olive. Fly pattern available in sizes: 12, 14, 16.

"At home on the Browns River in Vermont, this little caddis nymph is one of the hottest items for the dog days of summer at the very tail end of August. Dead drift it through riffles, pocket water, and pools, and hang on, cause' the native brookies and browns will hit em' hard. I found it to be really good tied with light olive Hare-tron on a #14 curved nymph hook."
