Mother Goose Play Set
Mother Goose toy holds six fabric children's books printed with classic nursery rhymes in her feathers, and all of the book characters are zipped inside! The top zipper opens to reveal small stuffed fabric dolls and figures that relate to the rhymes: Little Bo Peep, Jack Be Nimble, Little Miss Muffet, Hickory Dickory Dock, Hey Diddle Diddle, and Jack and Jill. Goose is 12"H x 12"L. Cotton/polyester. Washable. These best selling children's books are for all ages.

"I am really pleased with this unusual soft toy. The little books contain well known nursery rhymes, which can be played out by parent and baby using the little characters hidden inside Mother Goose. It is just delightful!"

"This and the bear house I bought for my new great grandaughter. Everybody that were in the house when the parcels were opened all wanted to know where I had bought them as they all said that they had not seen anything like these soft toys in years. My greatgrandaughter is only four months old but she hugged them and seemed to take to them immediately. Two very good presents for a young baby. Soft, cuddly and will last for years."

"According to prior reviews, the single issue with Mother Goose was the overstuffing. Having some sewing skills, I figured that I could do as other reviewers have and remove some stuffing. An easy solution and Mrs. Goose is better than ever. My grandchild will love this."

"Other reviewers have mentioned that the body has so much stuffing that the little, stuffed nursery rhyme characters wouldn't fit in the zippered pocket. That is true. I solved the problem by taking stitches out of the bottom of the pocket, removing a portion of the stuffing in the center, and stitching it back up. Now everything fits perfectly!"

"My daughter received this as a gift from my parents last Christmas. It is cute. Out of the package it looked kind of cheap, lots of loose strings, etc., like it was quickly made, but it cleaned up just fine. It would be nice if it had a base to "stand" up instead of leaning to a side all the time, but overall, a good interactive toy. There was a note that came with it that you can get replacements if you lose the parts, which is good to know since there are a lot of little parts with it. I also like that it's a "traditional" toy, with the traditional stories and items to go along. No electronics, just a nice interactive stuffed toy."

"I don't like to take the time to write revies but this time I had to refute the one negative review on this toy. I am very particular about the toys I buy for my grandchildren. This Mother Goose beautifully fills the bill. It has a beautiful, classic, aesthetic, stimulates imagination, is well made and...my two year old granddaughter loves it! I bought several of thes cloth sculptures for children from Orvis and so far this is the favorite. I just also bought "My Very First Mother Goose" book to go along with it and further her newfound interest in these classics of Western culture. Thank you Orvis for making this treasure available."

"We gave this to our toddler granddaughter, using the small stuffed characters to enact the rhymes. She was delighted when Jack Be Nimble would squeal occasionally (my voice) if he failed to jump high enough over the candlestick, and she liked the waddling movements of Jack and Jill as they trudged up a sofa cushion and then came tumbling down. She also laughed heartily when Little Miss Muffet saw the spider. This toy was such a hit that we are ordering two more for our grand-nieces.
A small note: the zipper pocket was very tight for storing the little puppets due to Mother Goose's overstuffing."

"I love this toy! I received it as a gift with my first child and 4 kids later we still love it. We read the rhymes and my children take turns finding the matching figures. I think it's a great way to teach nursery rhymes. I taught kindergarten and I was amazed at how many children today don't know them anymore."

"This item looked pretty nice in the catalog - however, when it arrived, for the price it is very small and chintzy looking. I am so disappointed and am not planning on even giving it to the child I bought it for, but feel I can't pay the shipping to send it back."
