Nice bobbin, BUT...,
January 30, 2015
from Fort Lewis, WA
"I just received this bobbin in the mail and quickly tied five bead-head pheasant tail nymphs to give it a whirl. THE GOOD: This bobbin feels nice in the hand and is super smooth after working with the wire a bit to put the right tension on the spool. I'm hard on thread, but with this bobbin I didn't break thread even once (uncommon for me in a tying session). THE BAD: This bobbin is too long to be threaded by the Orvis standard bobbin threader. I used a *trick* to thread it for my first use that I'd rather not have to use each time I tie."

Excellent for the dollar!!,
June 6, 2014
from East of Pittsburgh Pa
"Nice bobbin when you tweak the spool holder to the right place. It just takes a little to get it there. I also have the Orivs Adjustable Tension Bobbin, and the tension one is for sure a 5-Star because of it's easy adjustment. I think you need both,(this Wasatch and the Orvis Adjustable) as who doesn't always tie something in black or even olive? So, it's good to have a spool, or even two, set up with this Wasatch Woodtrimmed Bobbin in a few of your basic colors."
"Excellent, USA-made fly-tying tool; the Wasatch bobbin fits my hand and is a joy to use. Looks great."

Review 6 for Wasatch Woodtrimmed Bobbin
Great Looking Bobbin,
April 26, 2013
from Richmond, VA
"This is a great bobbin. It looks awesome and is great at doing its job. The only complaint is that it often is too small to handle certain larger thread spools. But this is usually not a large problem as it is easy to bend the arms to agree with the large thread spools. Thanks Orvis!"
"I purchased this product as I was impressed with the reviews of Wasatch products as well as their styling. I encountered difficulty threading the bobbin as the bobbin threader would hang up just before it would exit the bobbin. I have exchanged it for the same model and hope that it was just that piece that was defective."
