The Original Engineer Boot

The leather engineer boot is to American industrialization what the cowboy boot is to the American West: a symbol of strength, ingenuity, and enduring style. Created by the Chippewa Company, in anticipation of a renewed economy with the announcement of the New Deal, the boot was adopted by railroad firemen and engineers, who praised its ability to protect them from the hot embers of the locomotive's coal box. A timeless, pull-on style with its stovepipe shaft and buckle cinches at the ankle and knee, it was adopted in later years by motorcyclists, who sought solid footwear that offered protection from the rigors of the road. These handcrafted boots, re-created from Chippewa's original specs, feature Horween Chromexcel leather uppers, genuine Goodyear® welt construction, a leather-topped sock liner, and solid brass nickel-finished hardware. It all rides atop a leather outsole with a hand-pegged shank. In chocolate. Made in USA. Whole and half sizes: 8-12. In E width. 17"H.
