Abel Nipper and Lanyard
The last pair of nippers you'll ever buy. Designed, manufactured, and assembled in the US by Abel, these anodized aluminum nippers feature stainless steel jaws, are saltwater resistant, and can even cut through 100-lb. braided line. Comes with a nearly indestructible lanyard made out of lightweight nylon parachute cord. Available without the lanyard. In green with trout logo, blue with tarpon logo. Weighs 0.7 oz. Made in USA.

"As everyone else has noted, these are a bit more pricey than the nail clippers from the local drugstore. But then those nail clippers aren't a finely machined cutting machine. When I need to make precise cuts for my knots, I use these.
Just don't lend them to admiring friends - they won't want to give them back."

"I was initially hesitant to order the nipper due to its cost. However, after using it, I feel that its well justified. It performs exceptionally well on a wide range of lines. I especially like the design of the eye cleaning tip. it keeps it from getting bent or pricking me. The great warranty and the fact its made in the USA is also a plus. I like it so much that I ordered another one in Blue for my saltwater pack."

"Despite the high price which can make you hesitate to purchase, this is the absolute best fly fishing nipper out past or present. It will be hard to surpass this one in the future. It cuts 8/0 tippet to 30lb test nylon with ease. The needle cleaner is uniquely hidden away within the nipper so that it will not catch or stab you or be exposed to be broken off. As in all Abel products the machining is exquisite. I have been fly fishing for almost 40 years and have tried all nippers made to this date as I like to try out all new gadgets."
