"This is exactly the quality product I was looking for. Although quite spendy when all is said and done with all the accessories (griddle, hood extender, etc.) you'll realize that you want to go with it from Cobb. You wont find a higher quality product however."

state of the art kitchen in a bag,

"I do a lot of traveling and camping. I haqve tried all sorts of barbecue grills from the ones already installed at the campsites to Hibachi's and brand name grills. The day I received my Cobb, I took it out grilling. This grill does it all. I baked Chicken, Bread, Veggies, grilled some hotdogs and baked a potato. What amazed me most was the clean up, which on other grills can be messy. I followed the instructions and clean up was 123. I bought the basic grill which was a mistake. I should have purchased the whole package. Which I am in thew process of ordering piece by piece. I can't wait to get the Cobb cook book and other accesories. I will still bring my propane stove. Mainly for boiling large pots of water, Or cooking extra food at the same time. Yet i see my self doing more of my outdoor cooking on this amazing grill / kitchen. I can see why it won several awards for innovative design."

"I've always wanted to cook outdoors but have never perfected the art. Finally, using this Cobb grill I'm able to have my grandchildren over for a cookout and know things will turn our as desired. It truly lives up to its billing - a very few pieces of charcoal and your'e in business. Then there is no problem with space as it neatly tucks away in a small space when you're through."

"I have been looking for a lightweight, small, charcoal grill with a lid for travel in a small RV. This fit the bill in every way, plus being cool to the touch while lighted, used little charcoal, and would be terrific for roasting. However, for steaks or burgers, the perforated metal grill surface acts more like a frying pan than a grill and is much hotter in the center than the edges, as can be expected. A grill can be purchased to put above the perforated metal, so juices can drip down, but by then the whole package gets too expensive. I appreciate Orvis for accepting my return of the item."

"It's a great little grill, easy to set up and use, reasonably easy to clean, and lives up to its promise of the outside surfaces remaining cool so you can use it on a wooden table if necessary. Follow the instructions carefully. Place steaks, hamburgers, etc. directly on the [dark-colored] grill surface; use the rack for special purposes covered in the directions. Note: The charcoal needs to burn a half hour for best results. The grill surface will be at least 700 degrees (F), so be careful. I used it in 20 degree (F) weather with a cold wind blowing at about 12 knots and got good results, allowing extra time for the cool conditions.
For fuel, I tried both Kingsford Match Light charcoal and Kingsford conventional charcoal (I ignited the latter with Diamond "Strike-A-Fire" starters, available at grocery stores and camping supply stores). Both systems worked well. FYI, cooking times were about 50% longer than when using a "conventional" charcoal grill, but of course the cold conditions may have affected these results.
Try the Cobb grill at home to become accustomed to its behavior and cleaning techniques before relying on it for camping in the wilderness.
I am completely satisfied with my purchase."

"We used our Cobb Grill for the first time this weekend on a camping/fishing trip. The Cobb cooked our fresh-caught trout perfectly! We also cooked hot dogs, warmed the buns, and cooked a can of chili on the Cobb and all cooked through well and tasted delicious! We were really amazed most at the cleanup--as the chili spilled on the grill rack but it was non-stick so it just wiped right off after cooling off. We could zip it up in its carry-case and throw it right in the back of the car easily. Overall, I give this grill TWO BIG THUMBS UP! We love it!"
