Superb Rod,

"I've had my FF for about 2 years now. Beautiful 7 pieces of graphite stuck together. Silky smooth and fits snug into a very, very nice Orvis case which has section compartments. Class. I have other 7 piece 'travel' rods, but will only use the Orvis. Light enough for presenting dries and also chunky enough to throw some dirty (i.e. 2 nymphs and split) gear if needed. Landed many (20+ in.) large Bows and Brownies in Austria on this beauty. Not a hick-up. Well done Orvis!"

Review 2 for Frequent Flyer 3-weight 8'6" 7-piece Fly Rod
"Bought a 3wt a couple of weeks ago. The rod is not as smooth as the more expensive Orvis rods but for the money spent, a very good deal. The cork quality of the handle is perhaps not the best but for this price I would recommend the rod. Casts well enough and is a dream to pack. If you are looking for a rod that takes no place at all, chose this! You could place rod, reel and a box of flies in your glove compartment."

Review 3 for Frequent Flyer 3-weight 8'6" 7-piece Fly Rod
"I own a couple of other rods and this one is one of the best. The rod snug nicely in my bag. After work, I would go for a quick end of hard days work for a relaxing fresh water fishing. Heading home big smiles. The rod is very responsive and durable. I recommend this rod to everyone..."

Fantastic travel Rod!!!,

"Was little skeptical at first, but became a believer after landing several brook trout on a narrow mountain stream in VA. It’s so smooth that I couldn’t tell at times that it was a 7 piece rod. It’s small enough to pack in a backpack for hiking up to hard to reach streams in the mountain. Highly recommend it!!!!"

"Purchased my 3 wt. in Boston and just tried it out on the Carson river in Calif. It had great balance and sensitivity. One of my best purchases!"

"This super-light rod is true to casting effectiveness and efficiency; even with mid-flex, it allows me to present small flies accurately. Coupled with the superb Battenkill Large Arbor reel, I find the casting of such light 3 wt. line to be dependable, even in slightly windy conditions. I have only been fly fishing for a few years, and this rod gives me just as much confidence in using different casts as my two-piece 6 wt. rod. Additionally, having relocated to Switzerland a number of years ago, I spend a lot of time hiking to small streams, mountain lakes, and other difficult-to-get-to fishing spots. My two-piece is just not practical in these situations. Thank you Orvis, for making getting to out-of-the-way fishing locations easy! Throw this rod and my gear in the rucksack and I'm off!"
