"These are really a nice pair of gloves, they are just the perfect thickness. Those looking for something more substantial than those liners look no further. They are comfortable through a wide temperature range. And they are priced perfectly as well. You won't find a warmer nicer pair of wool gloves anywhere."

"Because I am a surgeon I use tight, well fitting gloves all the time.
These gloves fit the bill. I am able reach into my pocket and take out the correct change with the gloves on. They are comfortable keep the cold away. I hope that I don't wear the out too soon."

"I live in Northeastern Ohio, and the past two days have had a high temperature in the teens, with lows of single digets, or below zero. These gloves have kept my hands warm in spite of horrible weather. I wear them all the time, and they are comfortable. They fit perfectly, and they look great."

the truth about these gloves,

"these are nice gloves. well made. i have a barbour coat and these gloves are barbour quality and more likely made for a UK winter not a US winter in the north. i wish they were heavier and had leather palms, i'd pay for that. These are not for cold winter days in New England. These are more like your fall and spring gloves when bare hands need something warm but not too heavy. I wouldn't expect to wear them below 30 degrees. they're not made for work either. i repeat these are not working gloves. they're just a nice light glove and that's what should be disclosed in the ad. i honestly think they're almost like a glove liner. but i'm keeping them. nice and soft. i have a large long hand but not wide hand, and the large fits nicely."

"The gloves are small for being 'large' size and there is a hole where the thumb meets the hand part of the glove. I expect more from Barbour products and Orvis. I would submit it for a refund but the cost of shipping and Orvis's propensity for deducting fees when returning items makes the cost prohibitive. I doubt I'll shop there again."

"Since the gloves aren't available in x-large, I ordered a large hoping they would run big. Unfortunately, they were true to size and too tight for me but I would have kept an x-large pair. I returned the gloves for a refund but would recommend them for folks with smaller hands as they seemed to be very reasonably priced and of quality construction."

"I ordered these gloves from the Orvis web site after visiting the Orvis store on Michigan and Ontario in Chicago. While at the store, I purchased a pair of black Barbour Fingerless gloves.

My office is extremely cold and the fingerless gloves are perfect for keeping my hands warm while allowing me full use of my fingers to type on my computer. Yes, I admit I look a little weird wearing gloves in the office but having warm hands is worth paying the price of a little weirdness.

While visiting the web site, I noticed the full finger version and decided to buy them for my walk into the office.

They are light weight, soft and keep my hands warm while walking to my office. I am not sure if they would keep your hands warm for 3 hours is below zero temps but they are great for short periods of time.

The price can't be beat either. They are 100% wool and a nice color.

I would highly recommend these gloves. As expected, another great product from Orvis."
