Peterson's Spawning Shrimp

A very lifelike spawning shrimp pattern for the flats. Between the rabbit fur body and the long extended legs, this bonefish fly has exceptional realism. Heavy dumbbell eyes get the pattern down, but don't create a big disturbance when it hits the water. This fly is excellent for shallow flats where fish are spooky. In natural. In sizes: 2, 4, 6.

"I purchased it for bone fishing which is coming up but in the meantime the quality of the fly is excellent and if it doesn't catch fish it not going to be the fly's fault"

Peterson's Spawning Shrimp,
December 7, 2013
By: Bonedog
"Made several trips to Bahamas and Ascension Bay, MX. This fly works better there than anything I've used. Bonefish can't refuse it. When the long black filaments are finally torn off, tie on a new one and keep on catching! This fly won't work in Christmas Is, but anyplace it the Caribbean it's like candy to bonefish."

A Good Fly for Honduras,
October 2, 2012
By: Comandante

"My guide had never seen the Peterson's Spawning Shrimp before and turned his nose up at it. But gotchas and bitters weren't working that day so we gave it a try. I cast it in front of a mixed school of bones and permit then watched a permit chase the fly and dip its head to take it only to have it stolen by a bonefish. At the end of the week, I offered my guide any of the flies in my box. He cleaned me out of Peterson Spawning Shrimps."

"This was a very productive fiy in the Bahamas. I would not suggest this fly for calm skinny water due the the disruption it creates when you drop it. I found it to be outstanding when there is wind stirring the surface or in deeper water. In those conditions, the fish couldn't pass it."

"This fly turned out to be the fly the Permit wanted this last December in Ascension Bay Mexico. The Permit refused all our usual Crab Patterns. The first good cast with a size 4 Petterson Spawning Shrimp resulted in an amazing strike.
I will definitly buy more of these flies!

"I went to Andros for a 3-day trip. I tied on a Peterson shrimp on the first day and it was taken by every bonefish I reached in the creeks and flats. I tried a Gotcha for one cast in Little Creek and watched an entire school of 30 fish swim past it. I went back to the shrimp and hooked every fish. It was cold, the wind blew, the clouds darkened the sky, but the fly never failed. I took 40 flies with me and used a single one. I fell head-over-heels in love on the third day at"The Airport" when the sun finally came out."
