Pheasant Stirrup Cup Set
In the late 1600s and throughout the 1700s, “dram cups” were used to serve welcome drinks to hunters as they gathered on horseback to start the day. Originally constructed with feet on the bottom, they eventually lost their feet and became known as stirrup cups. This pair features a detailed reproduction of a pheasant head on the bottom of each stirrup cup. White nickel-plated metal with European glass. Imported.
