Drew Chicone's Mr. Chumlee is an innovative variation of a basic baitfish pattern, tied sideways on the hook in order to mimic a wounded baitfish floating on its side. The extra-long Craft Fur tail gives just enough movement to mimic the intermittent wiggle from the paralyzed baitfish. The wide piece of foam on the back of the fly keeps the fly on the surface and keeps it from spinning when stripped. Baitfish become stunned and disoriented during a blitz and tend to float sideways and swim in circles, and that is exactly what Mr. Chumlee is designed to imitate. Work the fly with a series of 1-foot-long strips, but then stop and let the fly float back to the surface. Sizes 1, 2/0.

"This is a stupid looking fly. I haven't fished it yet. I only bought it because the pic looked good. However I only saw one side. the other side of the fly looks like a white oval piece of paper. Nothing else. I can't imagine that this will catch a snook. But I'll try."

from South Carolina lowcountry
"Without question, one of the most innovative flies to come on the market yet! The action in the water imitates wounded prey for lunkers that takes them out of their normal dormant mood at this time of the year. A sure winner for large and small mouth and a definite killer for bream during any season. The action of this fly cannot be understated as the crippling and erratic motion brings fish to shore!"
