Excellent Prospecting Fly,
May 16, 2015
By: Jawitzke7
"I just got back yesterday from fishing some of the small streams that run off of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and I pulled more wild Browns out with this fly than I have with any other dry. I couldn't physically see any trout rising to the surface so I tied on the purple parachute and tossed it right under the ridge. After just one cast I hooked into Mr. Brown, and it was just game on after that.
Long story short; this is an excellent fly and I will be going back to Orvis to replace all of the ones that I lost, and add many more to my collection."

Outstanding,

"Reading about the Purple Haze dry fly in a fly fishing magazine, I was doubtful. I mean, how could anyone improve on the Royal Wulff as an attractor or the Parachute Adams as a generic mayfly? However, after fishing it in both Colorado & New Mexico, I'm a believer! It's my new go-to prospector fly."

"Used this in SW Colorado on mountain streams and larger (Animas/Dolores). Caught a ridiculous amount, all on this one pattern. Unbelievable."

Terrific for trout,

"Used this fly in Shenandoah National Park and the native brookies couldn't stay away. A great all around mayfly imitation that floats like a lifeboat and the parachute is easy to track & follow in the rifles. Something about the purple body must turn on the fish."
