When traditional dubbed body dry flies fail, Grant Bench's CDC Quill Emerger shines. The quill body with realistic segmentation might have something to do with it, or maybe it's the lifelike profile and crazy awesome flotation properties of the CDC wing. All you need to know is fish eat it. Mayfly imitations are in nearly every trout fisherman's box, and they should be. From the Hendrickson hatch in New England to the BWO hatches in the west, the CDC Loop Wing Quill Body Dun has everything you need to feel confident on the water. BWO; sizes 18, 20. Sulphur; sizes 14, 16, 18. Hendrickson; sizes 12, 14.

Great for Picky Fish,

from Provo, UT
"I came up on a heavily fished river this last summer and saw fish consistently rising. I tried patterns that usually worked here but no takers. I tied on this loopwing emerger and fooled every fish in the 50 yd stretch. Great bug Grant!!!!"

Stands up to scrutiny,
June 15, 2013
"Love this bug! We've all been there. You're fishing a flat pool and there's a big yellow nose softly poking through the surface film periodically. You throw a slack mend and get a perfect drift. Fatty Brown brings that nose right up to your go-to bug and... snubbed, he turns away. That's when you'll pull out this fly for the first time and give it a shot. That's when it becomes your new go-to bug."
