Gee's Supafly Stone Dry

The Gee's Supafly is the end result of countless tweaks on patterns used on South Fork of the Snake River, the Henry's Fork and endless Jackson Hole area streams and creeks. The fly is typically fished close to the bank, structure, or off gravel bar drop offs. Fish the Supafly on a dead drift, but more often than not skittering, skating, or subtle twitches elicit takes. This fly has worked on rivers in Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming. It will certainly be a go to fly on the many rivers that have good hatches of stoneflies across the West. Sizes 6, 8.

"While I'm not a guide like Nolan74, I do a LOT of fishing in the Wyoming/Idaho/Montana corner. Gee's Supafly is a superb stonefly imitation but it works long after the stoneflies have disappeared until next season. It floats great and is highly visible, which makes it a perfect fly when I'm helping friends who haven't done much flyfishing. There have been a bunch of times when I've started out using the Supafly as an indicator fly with a nymph of some sort hung underneath it - after awhile I end up taking the nymph off because most of the fish are hitting the dry. This is an excellent, realistic-looking fly and I highly recommend it."

"As a guide that fishes big Western rivers, I am always looking for flies that are client proof and effective. This fly is both of those things. When the golden stones or salmon flies are out, this is my go to bug. I have watched clients on a daily basis throw other foam imitations into pockets and have fish half heartedly bat at the fly. I then have them throw this fly over the same fish and they absolutely destroy it. Even when we are out of salmon flys at the shop I will take one of these, color it orange with a sharpie and it is just as effective. If your planning on fishing a big bug hatch, take these with you!"
