"When I came across this sweater in the sale catalog, I was attracted by its mock tutle neck. I am a small-boned person. My usual size is Medium and shirt sleeve 33 inches. Since this sweater was only available in Small size, I was tempted to try it. The sweater is a bit tight but conforms to the current fashion of tight fits. It turned out to be a very satisfactory purchase, especially the sleeve length is just right without being folded at the end."

"I had had a "real" watch sweater many years ago (USCG Issued) and I remembered it always looked good. I purchased this sweater out of a bit of nostalgia. I can say that it is not a true watch sweater, not quite dark enough and not as thick. That said it fits and looks great and is as warm as I need. The one thing that is absolutely the same is the scratchiness in the collar that I remembered, they have reproduced it perfectly. That’s OK, and a good wool sweater will do that. I recommend it for it's warmth and looks, it is just fine."

"Nice sweater, the fit seems to be spot on and the wool is relatively soft. I expected a wool thickness like the US Navy issue but sadly no - hold it up the light and you can see thru it."

"Very disappointed in the type of wool used in this Seaman's Crew. Very lightweight, extremely scratchy and nothing even close to the authentic Seamen's Crews issued by the US Navy and US Coast Guard. Sorry, but I returned it the very next day after I received it."

"I've found this wool pullover just as described - no complaints at all. Quality and sizing is good, too. I'm 5'8", waist 40", and size L fits fine, a tad snug at first, but then the wool tends to give. Make sure to wash cold and air dry. It's a bit difficult to judge from the photo how substantial the pullover really is. I've found it perhaps not overly so, yet beefy enough to keep the cold at bay. Overall, I'd recommend this crew."

"The sweater as it fits is great but the issue is "lamb's" wool which would indicate it's soft but this wool gave me a rash almost immediately.
I can wear wool if it's a higher quality. This was itchy and coarse."

"The Seaman's crew is very nice. I was surprise at the quality. I'm Very particular and hard to please. Clean lines and will be worn for different occasions. I will continue to shop at Orvis.
