"I needed a cardigan that was going to keep me warm after my wool sweaters were put away. This does the job and then some. Nice snug cuffs and bottom rather than other brands I have come across. Solid Orvis buyer for years and for years and years to come."

"I just received my University Shawl Cardigan today. This sweater arrived with one of the buttons missing and the buttons that were attached were literally hanging by a thread...a very thin thread. The sweater is very comfortable and looks pretty nice but I am going to have to hire a seamstress to reattach the missing button (I found it rolling around in the package) and to resew the buttons that remained attached because they are sure to fall off if this is not done. Not what I expect from Orvis!"

"When I first saw this sweater in the catalog, I thought it might be one of those things that seems good in theory, but doesn't translate well in practice. But I decided to take a risk. It was well worth it. It's a substantial sweater, but not bulky. Fits true to size for a cardigan of this sort. The quality is excellent and it can be dressed up or dressed down depending on what is paired with it.
The only reason I didn't got for 5 stars was because of the buttons. For the overall quality of the sweater, the buttons seemed a little cheap. Definitely not a dealbreaker, however!"
