"I purchased this fishing rod for a friend that is a serious fly fisherman. He loved it. The fishing rod is extremely light and it came in a nice case. The pruchase experience was very nice at ORVIS."

Review 2 for Helios 2 4-weight 9' Fly Rod—Mid Flex
August 22, 2013
"I owned the Zero Gravity 9' 4wt Mid-flex 7.5 and it was my favorite Orvis rod ever. On a recent trip the rod broke at the lower ferrule and could not be repaired. Orvis sent me a new Helios 2 9' 4wt Mid-flex as a replacement. The rod is absolutely beautiful everything is top notch. As far as how the rod performance is concerned, it is dead on accurate and throws very tight loops. The only negative thing I can say is that the H2 mid-flex seems to be a little softer( for my liking ) compared to what my ZG mid-flex was. Looking forward to getting out and fishing it. Thank you Orvis for the great customer service!!"

Review 3 for Helios 2 4-weight 9' Fly Rod—Mid Flex

"My second Orvis rod; my first was a Helios 1 12w originally bought for GT's but now my go-to rod for long tail tuna in Northern Australia. That was the tip flex, a deeply impressive powerhouse and yet easy to cast for an "advanced beginner". So why not try a Helios 2 I ask myself. This is to be my main rod for small to moderate sized stream fishing for wild brownies; so I specified the mid flex and am teaming it with a Force SL and 5 weight WF AirFlo line. Jackpot. Another beautiful Orvis product; deep blue with a hint of sparkle, sexy titanium guides and here is a rod with soul! I read about rods that can make you a better caster, a lot of it is hype but this time I find myself casting perfect straight loops with little pointy ends right out of the box, and feel like I could do it in my sleep. I'm looking forward to a great season with my new best mate!"
