All–Weather Walker

Get a lifetime of comfort and classic, handsome looks from Alden's Scotch–grain calfskin All–Weather Walker. Massachusetts-based Alden Shoe Company developed this design in the 1940s, pairing a grippy crepe sole with a hand-sewn leather cap on the toe of the sole for long life. Still meticulously handmade in New England, Alden's cap–toe walking shoes are the most comfortable–and durable—you can buy. In dark brown. USA.Men's shoes in US whole and half sizes: 7-12½, 13, 14.

Worth every penny...,
September 15, 2012
By: Wiseau

"I waited 8 months for this order to be filled and it was worth the wait. The shoes are flawless. Stitching is outstanding and the leather hides are rich and vibrant. You can tell by looking at these shoes they were made by hand and with a subtle attention to detail. They are heavy but the sole has ample cushion, much more than a traditional leather sole. $500 is a ton of cash to spend on shoes but theses should last a lifetime with proper care. I could not be happier with the purchase. Some of the finest construction in hand made shoes I have ever seen. If you appreciate fine clothing, you will not be disappointed."

"Like the other reviewers, I found these shoes to be amazingly comfortable from the first wearing. Quality of materials is first-rate. Joins and stitching are good, with one minor exception. The welt ends (inside or medial of each shoe, near the heel, where the vamp is attached to the sole) are not finished off as neatly as in most shoes in this price range. The stitching looks secure enough, but the rough join shows more than on a fine handmade English shoe. There's plenty of room in the toe box, unlike in some of Alden's pointier styles. They are heavy. One shoe in my size (9D) weighs 1lb.10oz. By comparison, one of my Wolverine 1000-Mile boots weighs 1lb.6oz. Still, they are sturdy, comfortable and stylish -- a great combination."

"These are really great shoes.
Very comfortable with good support.
They run about a 1/2 size bigger that other shoes but that is true of other Alden styles as well.

Amazing Shoes,
October 2, 2011

"I put off buying these shoes as I thought they were a bit expensive and I was not sure how they looked in person. Now I wish I had bought them years earlier. The Alden's look great with khakis, jeans and even casual dress pants. They are instantly comfortable and the perfect shoes for a long walk in any weather. I have already toured England and Scotland in them and they are perfect. They do run a half size large."

Nice Shoes,

"I was looking for some long wearing, waterproof shoes with good looks. These fill the bill. I must say, they have a strong Pigskin leather smell initially, that took about 6 months to dissipate. The inserts didn't feel the best to me, so I replaced them with some aftermarket leather covered cushioned insoles with better arch support. Now these shoes are made for walking!"

"Picked these up at the Sandestin FL store three months ago and wished I had tried them years ago. Great fit and a superior secure feeling while walking in all sorts of weather conditions. I remember the first day I wore them, only because they were so comfortable. They did not feel like new shoes, they felt great form the beginning. I expect to enjoy this pair for years to come and they look just as good with jeans or dress pants."
