"I have always been a fan of the Orvis Super Strong tippet and when I saw it was on sale for 100 meter spools, placed an order for the 0x, 1x & 2x. When the spools arrived, the "Best Used by" date was August 20, 2011. I placed the order in October 2011. I understand the tippet is on sale, but no-where does it say the tippet is expired. This is why I am giving a normal 5 star product, 2 stars. I also ordered the fluorocarbon tippet on sale which expires on a reasonable August 20, 2013."

"As the name implies this leader is strong. The weight to diameter is what prompted me to try this leader material. For Steelhead I have been using the .012 as a tippet and the .013 as the butt section for my leader system. Steelhead on the Salmon River, Idaho are not leader shy and these strengths help get the fish in faster for a better catch to loss ratio and is also better on the fish if releasing.
This leader holds a knot well once you test it with a couple of good tugs. The leader will show signs of abrasion after long use but all leaders will. Just check and replace when required.
Bottom line is this is what I have been using for Salmon and Steelhead for the last four years and have been completely satisfied.
