"I have several pieces of Orvis Battinkill luggage. Some for more than 20 years. They have had a lot of use/abuse. high quality very durable products. I was very disappointed after receiving the laptop wheeled overnighter. The bag appeared to be used right out of the box. maybe a returned item from someone else. the bag had scratches on the leather, and what appeared to be specs of blue paint. The bag would not sit level on the floor - wheels and from legs. Once packed, it would till over. The compartment for a laptop is a poor design. difficult to get a laptop in and out especially in a hurry in the TSA line of airports. I have returned it."

New version but wrong direction,

"Someday was asleep at the switch in product design on this model. I returned the new model and picked up the older version. The simple but fatal flaw on the new version is the laptop compartment will not allow for easy out. My laptop is a 15 inch HP Elitebook 8460p. This a standard run of the mill size laptop. There is no strap on the laptop slot which would prevent up and down movement. But most importantly, you need both hands on the laptop to get it of the bag, but this is problematic because there is not enough clearance to get it smoothly out in a timely none knuckle scraping manner. Getting the laptop out of the bag in the TSA line at the airport is not a good situation."
