Dissapointed.,
February 1, 2013
By: Merlene
"I am disappointed with the cut of the collar. It does not fit correctly. According to the pictured jacket, the collar stands up. But it just rolls over and does not look good. I can hide it with a scarf, but I just refrain from wearing the jacket. Bad purchase for this much money."

NOT AS INDICATED IN BROCHURE,
January 23, 2013
By: NEWELL
from GREAT DUNMOW
"From the photograph in the brochure I had the impression that it was a fairly substantial jacket. On delivery it turned out to be more of an unlined cardigan. The wool was very fine but you could actually see through it. Very disappointing and I returned it straight away."

Boiled Wool Jacket with a Different Style,
January 21, 2013
By: Grandma1943
from Alabama
"I really like the tucks in the front of the jacket so gave it 4 stars. Otherwise, I would have given it three because the weight of the wool is lighter than another jacket I purchased and would have liked for it be lined. Fits well and buttons are nice."

Less than expected,
December 28, 2012
By: Genelady
from Louisville, KY
"I like it, but it's much lighter weight than I expected, and the tailoring is not up to snuff. I would recommend it however as many people are not as picky as I am. The color is just right, and it's exactly what I needed."

not Orvis quality,
December 20, 2012
By: SusieQII
from Rush, NY
"i sent this jacket back to Orvis for the following reasons: not the bright red as represented in the catelogue; poorly made: buttons coming off; button holes had threads coming out; fabric quality rather flimsy. this just wasn't the usual quality that i expect from Orvis products - many of which i have had for years. this one wouldn't have lasted this holiday season."

Elegant and Warm,
December 14, 2012
By: Emsie
"This elegant jacket is something like a cross between a cardigan, a suit jacket, and an outdoor jacket. The boiled wool (though a smidge itchy) is surprisingly delicate, and it has a beautiful style with three covered buttons and an asymmetric, slightly flared, design. I bought a black one, and wore it to a fine restaurant with black slacks and a white silk blouse. Sat beside a cold window, yet felt warm and well-dressed. It would look great with a scarf or colorful blouse. There is no doubt in my mind that this will be one of those wardrobe items that I will wear and enjoy for many years."

"I thought this red boiled wool jacket would be just what I was looking for. However, the wool is flimsy, the button holes badly sewn and the cut bad. I sent it back."

Extremely poor quality,

"I was extremely disappointed with the red boiled wool jacket. The fabric was paper-thin and threads were hanging from the seams. Certainly not worth over one hundred dollars."

"A light weight jacket perfect for the holidays. Not too heavy for indoor wear. Long in the body & sleeves which is good for taller ladies. Will be a favorite of mine for years to com!"
