Dog Blanket
Help your dog beat the cold in an easy-to-use fleece jacket styled in the fashion of a traditional horse blanket. Made from cozy fleece, it goes on quickly, requiring only two hook-and-loop fasteners (chest and belly) to achieve a snug, comfortable fit. Fleece dog jacket in gold. "The item runs very large. I ordered the small and it's too large for my 24lb dog. However, the quality is excellent and the jacket is beautiful. The colors are wonderful. I love it so much I'm having the jacket altered for my dog. It runs large around the middle and the length from neck to tail is long."

"It's like a mini-horse blanket. It's very warm and looks great on my dog. He seems happy wearing it and is much happier I don't have to pull a sweater over his head and legs. The velcro closures make it easy on and off."

"This is simply different and warm and wonderful. However...it runs HUGE. The xl will fit a mastiff, so I am sending it to my niece for her mastiff/boxer dog. You were sold out of large, but the medium fit 3 of my labs between 60 and 70 pounds. Our 80 pound will use the xl...but it is big. Ironically, one of the xl's seemed larger than the other...slightly, so we kept the smaller of the 2 for our bigger lab. Great quality and color! Thanks."

"Extremely well constructed and like a horse blanket--made in Ireland it said.
Got XLG and fits my Gr Pyrenees mix. Looks good. Hard to fit on my Leonberger, need one just a little bigger and longer. I did get it around, but not too good--she's a big girl (over 135 lbs).

"Love this dog coat. As others have said, it was a little too large, but I think it just keeps her that much warmer when the snow is flying. She really seems to like it, too. She's a puppy and I thought she would think it was a fun new toy to shred, but I think she knows when I put my coat on and then put hers on that she is a very special part of the family. "I have never bought a dog blanket before, but my 15yo (65lbs) labrador was getting cold even in our mild So. Cal. climate so I began researching. This blanket had the best reviews and I was encouraged that it was produced by a company that primarily makes horse blankets, so I was reassured it would be functional. This is not a "fashion statement" coat but a genuine "keep me warm" blanket. Emma can easily walk around in it and it stays snugly in place. The velcro is fantastic, huge and very sticky strips for adjusting to proper size. And even though the fabric is not bulky it is very warm. It is well made and I hope the blanket and Emma will last many years. My only suggestion is the sizing. I ordered a large and it is a snug fit. Emma has the usual extra scruff on her neck of an old lab but the neck velcro just barely fits. I dont usually think of 65 lbs labs as being "large" dogs but maybe thats because I grew up with Great Danes and GSD! So just measure and know it runs small. Thanks for the great blanket."

"We loved the dog blanket, but the size is incorrect. It does, fortunately, fit one of our dogs, but not the one we intended. We were told XL fit up to 70 lbs, when in fact, it fit our 100 pounder perfectly. That said the blanket is well constructed and of high quality material. The sizing chart that came with the item was correctly marked."

"Glad I read other reviews before ordering the size. It does run BIG. I have a 28 lb spaniel mix and went with the small. Fits perfectly. Velcro is easy to adjust. Color makes it easier to spot him off leash in the woods. He doesn't mind wearing it either. Great for really cold days say - 25 degrees and below."

"Based on the dimensions on the website for the XL blanket, it should have fit my dog, but the XL was way too big for her. When I contacted Orvis Customer Service, she was very unhelpful and stated that there would be a charge to ship it back and I was also out the shipping charges I paid initially. Also, they did not have the smaller size. Very disappointing considering the good service I have always received in the past from Orvis."

"We live in Minnesota and have had some concern walking our dog in cold, sometimes sub-zero, weather. This coat keeps him warm and has him looking great! The dimensiolns listed in the catalog led us to the correct size the first time. It is easy to put on the dog and he accepts it as part of the usual rountine---not yet true of boots for his feet."

"This would have been a wonderfully warm coat for a dog, but the Orvis sizing chart given is misleading. Your SMALL is way TOO BIG for the sizing chart given. Unfortunately I am having to return it. Let me know if you ever carry the XS and the XXS. I would be interested in getting a total of three coats for my sister's dogs: one XS and two XXS. The manufacturer carries those two sizes. ALSO needs a "button-hole" for allowing leash to hook to a harness."
