We take the same best-selling blend of 80% long-staple Pima cotton and 20% soft, warm Australian merino wool that you've loved for years, intimately blended, spun, and woven into a special 7.2-oz. fabric to make a button-front shirt that's remarkably comfortable and warm. Button-down collar. Patch pocket. Two-button cuffs. Please note: In order to achieve optimal color, the fabric-content percentage for the charcoal-colored shirt is 90% cotton/10% wool. Washable. Imported.Sizes S(34-36), M(38-40), L(42-44), XL(46-48), XXL(50-52). Tall sizes 3" longer in sleeves and 3½" longer in body.

"I have both Viyella and the Orvis version of Viyella shirts, about 6 of them.I'm short and wide. I could use shorter sleeves on the medium size. But, the shirts are outstanding. The fabric is a nice balance for added warmth in cooler weather; they feel wonderful next to the skin; the colors are crisp and clear and attractive; and they go well with hust about anything, including sport coats."

"I bought this shirt in autumn, and in January I had an MI with cardiac arrest. The ambulance crew had to cut the shirt off with scissors to recusitate me. Due to the good mionstrations of them and my physicians,. I survived and one of the first things I did was to order an identical shirt.
Highly recommended for appearance, fit, and easy care."

"Bought this shirt for my husband, never dreaming that it would become his "go to" shirt. It's been great with jeans, khakis and cords. Excellent fit (he has long arms) and the texture of the fabric was wonderful when we got it."

"I got my husband this shirt as a Valentine's gift since he really liked the one in a different color which I got him for Christmas. It requires only a little ironing out of the dryer to look really good. It runs just a tad large so if you're normally halfway in-between two sizes, go with the smaller size for this shirt."

"Colors and pattern terrific, seems to have more snap than same pattern used on other Orvis shirts. Fit is great, roomy but not baggy, tails too long. Even though the wool is Merino, I was concerned about the itch factor but there isn't any. Seems at least as warm as flannel but not as bulky."

"I like the colors and fit of the shirt. However, after I wore it twice and was taking it out of the dryer, I noticed the seam in the back where the shoulder part joins to the back of the shirt had separated. I don't think it was cut or torn -- the seam was probably just poorly sewn and it opened up. Do I return it? I failed to keep the receipt and paperwork to ship it back because I thought it was OK plus I've worn it twice. I don't have time to figure out how or where to return it and try to get my money refunded so I guess I will just steer clear of this item or Orvis in general in the future."

"If you are looking for shirt that will last for a long time and relentlessly hold its color and shape this series of shirts is a best choice. I have three; they are comfortable as well as impressive. The fabric blend is so soft you could wear this easily with out an undershirt. As usual this is a quality Orvis product that you can trust."

"My husband loves the colours orange and red and ordered this shirt solely on that basis. In addition to the vibrant colours, he was pleasantly surprised by how soft and warm the shirt was (he hadn't noticed the material was a cotton and merino wool combination until I pointed that out to him). We both think the shirt looks very smart and the talls size fits him perfectly."

"The quality and feel of the shirt material was very disappointing as was the quality and lack of attention to detail in the layout and alignment of the shirt patterns!

"Classic plaid, soft wool: looks great! Sizing a bit off: had to go up a size(and down 2 sizes in the sweatshirt) so that made catalog shopping challenging and a bit frustrating. But once we received the correct size for my husband, the shirt looked terrific and fit well."

"I purchased two of these shirts post-holiday and am very impressed by the material, pattern and vibrant colors. Unfortunately one of the shirts popped a button off (rather easily) the first time I wore it. I might forgive that sort of thing on a $39 shirt, but on a $139 one? C'mon!"
