"First time buying Orvis products, and I am impressed with the quality. I have been longtime supporter of Ralph Lauren Polo Shirts but I may now convert to Orvis. The one thing I notice is that Orvis is true to size measures of their shirts. I normally would be buy size large shirts because Lauren's large shirts are really medium size. In the case of Orivis, medium is medium."

"I realize that this was supposed to be a casual shirt, but rather than look slightly "broken in", it looks more like "well worn". It wouldn't be bad if my only intended use for it was to hang out at the beach, but I already have plenty for that pupose, and they're in that condition because I've actually gotten a lot of good wear out of them."

"This is the second such shirt I've purchased from Orvis and I couldn't be more delighted with it. It looks great, the colors are just right and it wears like iron. Washing a is a breeze, no ironing and the proportions are generous to a fault. While I only have two colors thus far, I intend to remedy that in the no too distant future. Thanks Orvis!"

"Great copy and pictures, but the shirt is a shirt. Nothing special and disappointed with the collar-very dippy-and the sleeves.
I don't wear them outside because of how they are and I bought 3 colors expecting them to be my summer play shirts.

"I bought 4 of these shirts 2 years ago. They WERE wonderful--soft, nice cotton, nice colors. I decided to order another one this year and it's lousy!!! Why do continue to make cheaper and cheaper products Orvis? The cotton is super thin and they are no longer soft. I didn't use to mind paying your prices because the qulity was there. This is the third product I've gotten from you lately that was clearly a low quality product. I would return it, but I'm getting tired of paying 2 shipping charges for your low quality merchandise!!
Very dissappointed--AGAIN!!!"

"I purchased 3 "surf washed" garments labeled washable. Upon receiving them I read in the care instructions that 1) prewashing was required and to be done without other garments.and 2) that special care was to be taken in all subsequent launderings. .Far too fussy for me."

"I opened the package and the shirt looked fine. I beagn to remove the tags. First, I read that the shirt should be washed before the first wearing. O.K., I thought. Sounds silly, but I'll follow that instruction. The I read furthers. The tag read:
"Launder separately." I read it aloud to my wife. She said, "Are you kidding?" I was not kidding. The point is this: If Orvis had included that bothersome detail in the catalog copy describing the shirt, I never would have ordered it. So I returned the shirt, unworn and unlaundered."

"I own 4 of these shirts and they are my "go to" shirt for weekend or casual wear. They work well under a jacket if you aren't trying to dress them up too much.
I differ with a couple of other reviews that state that they appear too casual. When I opt for surf wash, that is my expectation: a well worn old friend. No quality issues to date.
Two things that could be improved relate to price and color. Please offer a true or off black. The Charcoal color appears more a deep weathered brown.
Some of the other polos go on sale much more often which makes the $49 price a little steep. Would like to see more frequent sales or a price break for multiple purchases."

"I love these shirts. I have one in every color. They are perfect for the Texas heat. However, the quality could be improved. I have had to return several due to the seams coming apart at the corners of the button placket. Of course Orvis has replaced them with no issues, but it is a problem they need to address. The other improvement I would make is to add a pocket."
