Fish Skull Articulated Shanks

Fish Skull Articulated Shanks are designed to simplify the tying of articulated flies. These hook shanks for articulated flies can be used in single-hook and two-hook articulated streamers and poppers. It is also used for streamers that use a free-swinging stinger hook such as Intruder-style salmon and steelhead flies. 20 shanks per pack.Sizes: 20mm, 35mm, 55mm.

"Had been looking for these for awhile now and they work very well. Tying for a trip to Canada later next month, but going to try out some at Lower Mountain Fork in Oklahoma."

"An interesting product, but not really a new idea. As another reviewer suggested, be sure to pair the shank with a straight eye hook that has a fairly large eye. I use a TMC 8089 or a Gamakatsu stinger."

be careful of the hooks you use with this,

"I've been looking for something like this since I 1st sw articulated patterns. Good product, but some caveats:
1. you may want the 35mm length. 20mm is pretty short, although it is still adding to overall hook length.
2. Choose your matching hook carefully. You almost certainly want a straight eye hook (not that common in streamer hooks), and not all eyes are big enough to swing freely. So check first befor you buy or tie .
But, as I say, overall a good product."
