Our handsome sweater coat is knitted of pure Shetland wool. A great layering piece for fall and winter, this sweater has leather knot buttons and ribbed trim at the stand collar, cuffs, placket, and hem. Pure Shetland wool. Hand wash. Imported.Sizes: S(6-8), M(10-12), L(14-16), XL(18-20); about 37" long.

"I purchased this sweater in December and have worn it all through the holidays - it keeps me warm in my office on a cold NE day.
But its already pilling badly - I cannot return since I've worn it but I needed to warn future customers."

"I absolutely love my long wool cartigan, not only is it very warm but very versital as well. It can work as either dressy or casual and I love the leather buttons! Now I wish you would bring back the split skirts.I have several colors in the wool poly blend and the denim. Every time I wear them someone asks me where I got them. Let me know if they come back. "I bought this for my mother's 91st birthday and here is her critique, although she loved the color.
The buttons holes were mostly too small for the buttons
It didn't hang right
The wool started to pil after just trying it on once.
Needless to say, I'll be returning it."

"First time ordering from Orvis and was extremely disappointed. I am a size 8/10 so I took a chance and ordered a small since Orvis says their clothing runs a little big. When the item arrived it was too big so I had no other option but send it back because they have no XS."

"I purchased a medium In red. It fitted me more like a large-way too big and I'm a size 10-12. Also, the color red was different than the color on the web page and catalog. It's more like a cooler wine red than a rusty red as shown. For those 2 reasons, I have to return it. Otherwise, it is beautifully made-quite lovely!"

"I bought this sweater because I thought it would be warm in the office on cold winter days. However, the knit is quite loose and the sweater is not warm at all. It would never provide sufficient warmth for standing outside in the snow, as we see on the model.
The quality of the sweater is good, pilling is minimal, the color true."

"The quality of this knit coat is excellent. I would give it 5 stars if it didn't have dropped shoulders, and the sleeves were a bit more trim. However, you can't beat the quality and great color."
