Softy Minnow

A modern classic fly, nothing imitates the flash and movement of a natural minnow quite like softy minnow flies. Even its big eyes help attract fish and get vicious strikes. Strip it, twitch it, and hang on, this is one go-to minnow fly you want on hand.Sizes 2, 6. Length 3, 2".

Bass Machine,

"this fly is amazing in freshwater for largemouth bass. at my favorite lake, i was killing the bass with my spinning outfit with a mini slugo. I looked in my fly box for something remotely similar, and i chose the softy minnow. literally on 3 out of my next five casts i hooked decently sized bass(2-3pounds) and landed two of them. it has great action and the best part is that it is ten times more durable than clouser minnows. this is by far the best largemouth fly i have ever used!"

A Great Snook Fly!!!,

"I had my doubts about the Gummy Minnow until I tied one on and cast it into the Captiva Island (FL) beach surf. The snook went absolutely crazy for it (size 2 in pearl) as did the ladyfish, spanish mackerel, and jack crevalles. Only one slight quibble -- the flies only lasted an hour or so before being torn from the hook from so many vicious strikes -- but that's a good thing!"

gummy minow is a killer fly,

"When this fly was intorduced a few year's back, I had just been invited for a weekend at a friend's beach home on a south Bahama island. I saw the gummy minnows advertised in the Orvis newsletter and bought a selection in green and blue to take with me to try out. They were sensational!
My guide, a friend of my host, took me out to his favortie bonefish flat, and I got 5 strikes in eight casts. I broke off the first three, which he estimated at 26-28 inches each, before I figured out that my tippet had deteriorated and weakened since my last use the previous fall. Once I tied on a new leader, I caught and released at least a half dozen more fish, a 32" barrcuda, and several large, brightly colored sunfish within the next two and half hours.
We were wading in waist-deep water and fishing between openings in the rocks and over grass beds. Foul weather and some off-shore excusions prevented me from enjoying a second day on these flats.

"This fly is unbelievable! It is perfect for catching snook, mangrove snapper, redfish, and trout. I pefer to use it behind or near lights at night. We have a boat with underwater lights on it. I have caught the biggest fish! The fly is worth the money."

"I've fished this fly in salt water and its worked wonders, jacks, blue fin trevally, baracudas hit it like crazy. Even in the heavily fished waters of Hawaii it gets consistent hits. Its my "go to" pattern when ever I fly fish."

"While recommended as a salt-water fly, I had great success with this little guy sand bass fishing in North Texas. The bait fisherman I ran into were having luck ghost minnows, so I tied on the Gummy Minnow. The Sandies loved it! So have small mouth, large mouth, and crappie as well. It has the versatility of a Clouser minnow, but the durability to land fish after fish."
