Rosenbauer Parachute Beetle

In some rivers, especially on smaller streams, up to 80% of a trout's summer diet is terrestrial insects - and much of that is beetles. Try this terrestrial beetle fly in a size 14 first, and if that doesn't work, go next with a 16. Rosenbauer Parachute Beetle flies are a size 14 first, and if that doesn't work, go next with a 16. Beetles are also great strike indicators to use with small nymphs.

Great Terrestrial Fly,
August 3, 2015

"I have found this fly to be one of the best all-round terrestrial patterns to fish during the latter part of the summer. Just the right amount of flash underneath the fly, easy to see in the water, and gives you the correct attention getting splat on the surface. A pleasure to fish with or without a dropper."
