"In the past I've carried all manner of spinners in my fly box (especially different colors) but the only one that I carry now is the Rusty Spinner. Now I know it doesn't cover the entire landscape of spinner variations, but it seems to produce in almost any spinner fall situation.
Many of the rivers I fish have their spinner falls in the evenings, especially in the spring. The profile and color seem to be right on as long as I've got the right size. I'm fishing these as big as #10 or #12 during March Brown and Hendrickson season and then fishing the small (#18) when we get to Sulphurs and Olives. A great fly especially with a little crystal flash added to the wing."
