Leather Die Issue,
March 31, 2013
By: RandyMcK
"The gloves are well made and fit perfectly. However the black leather die is coming off on my hands. I have other black shooting gloves that don't have this problem. This is the second item puchased recently from Orvis that has had quality problems."

Glove in Hand 1,

By: Jpuck

"This seems to be a good product, but it was not what I wanted. It was a lined/insulated pair and all I want is a pair of leather shooting gloves."

Nice gloves,
December 31, 2012
By: Shenandoah
"Gloves appear well made. I ordered the XL size. The left glove fit perfectly but the right is tight. I just think it will take a little breaking in and possibly a wet / soak and stretch session."

Quality Not There Anymore,
November 11, 2012
By: Bugsy69
from Zionsville, IN
"Guess my previous attempt at writing a review was not quite PC enough...Just received my 2nd pair of these gloves and noticed that they do not fit quite as well, and the quality of leather & workmanship just isn't there anymore. These gloves certainly are not worth the $80 investment."

different,

By: astrobird

"This is the 3rd pair I have purchased. These are noticeably different now.The EX large I get is smaller (I almost sent them back but I decided to stretch them to fit.The snaps used to be black glove snaps and that is what is shown, but they have shiny cheap snaps instead, and they look out of place. Not really happy about that."

Nice but too small,
February 21, 2012
By: BigPop
from Virginia
"I really REALLY wanted a pair of these gloves. I ordered an XL even though by Orvis' own measuring instructions I should have worn a L. When they arrived, they were uncomfortably tight on the fingers and I could barely snap the wrist closure. Buy two sizes larger than you measure. They don't make a XXL so I had to send my pair back."

great gift from my honey,

By: setterhome

"I'm a hard fit on gloves, but these sporting clays gloves were on the money for size. I normally have to return gloves at least once for a proper fit, but not these.
Went skeet shooting this week and found that the feeling and grip were wonderful. Not sure how they will perform when it's really cold, but we'll see."Try em, you'll like um."

Nice Gloves,

"I like the gloves: look, fit, style, and "grippiness." I would buy again only complaint they shed some dye on my hands but it rinses off easily."

Not represented properly,
December 29, 2011
By: ljbjar333
from Tennessee
"The gloves are very nice, but they were represented as shooting gloves but when they came the tag said driving gloves. There did not appear to be any features that made the gloves perfect for clay/trap shooting as the catalog copy indicated. I had to tell the gift recipients why I bought them since they were confused by the "driving glove" tag. The price was so high for a driving glove."

Excellent unlined gloves,

By: captainnice40

"Excellent unlined leather gloves. Palms finished with a "football grain" finish to improve grip. They are sold as shooting gloves, but they make beautiful driving gloves."

Sporting Clay Glove,
December 11, 2011
By: NOGO
from NSCA
"Purchased as a replacement for worn out pair. Good glove for me as I have wide hand and shorter fingers. The fingers are not excessively long as in most other brands of shotgun gloves, especially when you need large or extra large gloves."

Great shooting or driving gloves.,
November 16, 2011
By: Jonilyn
from Suburban Chicago
"The feel of the gloves is like a second skin. Used them for a couple rounds of trap shooting and left them on to drive home I liked them so much. The leather is thin and really lets you feel as if your not wearing gloves plus the stitching and workmanship is excellent! The leather pattern on the palm of the glove is innovative for an excellent grip also."

Perfect!,
November 6, 2011
By: RGarner
from Lafayette, LA
"I was looking for a new pair of shooting gloves and had looked at several sporting goods stores and just couldn't find what I was looking for. I saw the Orvis gloves in one of your catalogs, read the reviews and ordered a pair to see if they were as good as the reviews. They are far better than any shooting glove I've owned - you will definitely be glad you ordered a pair, I sure am!"

Perfection,
November 6, 2011
By: goose42
from Calgary, Alberta
"The gloves are great. I don't usually wear gloves for driving, but these suit the task beautifully. They've kept the fall chill off my hands while walking to work as well.
I can't wait until I've finished building my roadster and go for the inaugural spring drive. These gloves and my Orvis cap will be with me as I go for a spin in the country.

"I bought a pair of these at Orvis Sandanona on a cold fall day a couple years ago. They are a good glove for Fall and Spring but not winter. They are thin and feel great when holding the gun. The gun does not slip in your hand at all and they provide a better grip than not using gloves. The only problem is that they are so thin that they wear out quickly. Unfortunately, my pair are now ruined after a fairly short time using them . The fingers wore out and the seams ripped. I love Orvis but these should be made to hold up better."

"Isn't the feel of the gun in your hands one of the pivotal aspects of good shooting?
I forget that these gloves are on and only sense a more confident hand on my gun when I don these velvety soft peices of second skin.
They won't bleed, rip or tear, nor will they be so overbearing, thick or unbreathable as to rob your attention to the more important matters.
As glasses to the eyes, or boots to your feet, these skins will only accentuate your hands connection to the sport. They promise to keep out of the way and endure so that you can focus and have fun."
