"Although not an Orvis brand, The vest looks better in real life and fits almost ads well as regular Orvis clothing I have previously purchased."

Rascher Vest,

"I just received this vest yesterday and cannot wait until fall and early winter hits to wear it every day. Very comfortable and light. The herring bone pattern is amplified in the material. I was expecting more of the loden style material, but am still pleased with the tweed blend. I would recommend it."

Pictures Don't Do it Justice,
June 29, 2012

"This is a beatiful garment and the picture on the web doesn't do it justice. I agree with a prior post that the herringbone is much more pronounced than the picture would lead you to believe (which for me was a plus). I have an athletic build and based on a prior post, I ordered a medium rather than large which was the right call. Very pleased."

Rascher Vest,
April 27, 2012
By: Wapiti

"Rascher lodens are fovored by Alpine European hunters with good reason, they are good and worth the cost. My vest, ordered in medium fit ideally, I have a 42" chest and 34" waist and the fit allows comfortable movement without being too loose. The details are well done but the buttons are loose. Since they are logoed and match I will have a tailor resew them. One problem, the lovely -valuable vest was shipped in a plastic bag and arrived stuffed in the back of my mailbox, shameful."

Great idea...but,

"This vest is beautiful (5 star) but its going back. Once again, an Orvis vest that is cut for an overweight body style. Large works OK in the chest but is huge in the waist, even when adjusted. I would try a medium, but know it will be cut too narrow in the arm holes. Also, and this really bugs me, the photo would appear to show the tweed as a donegal or a very subtle herringbone but in fact it is pronounced herringbone. Another photo would have saved me some shipping, as I would not have ordered it. Workmanship is amazing, wool fabric and moleskin fantastic and the lining is to die for. Too bad I have the wrong body (wide shoulders, narrow waist, narrow hips.). It may also be that I misjudged how a vest of this type is supposed to fit."
