Silver Sonic Convertible-Top Waders
The most versatile welded waders on the market today. Fish dry, and know you'll stay that way. Featuring the patented Orvis SonicSeam technology, all thread and stitch holes are eliminated and seams are double reinforced, prolonging the life of the waders dramatically. These are hard-wearing, breathable, everyday waders for the serious angler. Main wader is made of the same durable 4-layer nylon fabric as the Pack and Travel waders, while the upper is a lighter weight 4-layer nylon, the same fabric used in the Pro Guides. An innovative suspension system allows you to convert them to waist-highs without removing suspenders, a perfect feature for warm spring afternoons. Front zippered pocket is highly water resistant and an ideal storage place for fly boxes, while a flip-out interior waterproof pocket can hold cameras, cell phones, or fishing licenses. Attached gravel guards feature a quick-drain panel to keep you moving. Anatomically correct, sculpted neoprene booties for comfort. Strategically placed lower leg seams run up the back of the wader, reducing abrasion. Wader is cut higher in the front on women's model to provide a more comfortable fit. Wader belt and traditional suspender option included. In overcast/taupe. Outer shell: 100% nylon. Imported.

"These are definitely the most comfortable waders I've ever worn. The fit is much improved, a slimmer fit compared to a much roomier fit than previous Orvis waders I've had. The front pocket is very roomy, the convertible top is a great improvement over the previous Silver Label convertible waders, and there's less "slack" in the booties. The self-fabric gravel guards are also much nicer than neoprene. I'm eager to test the durability out more, but from the few times I've used them (at the moment of this review), these waders are a HUUUUGE steal for the price. Orvis definitely hit a home-run with these waders!"

"I went back and forth between these and a pair of Simms, and I am so glad I went with the Silver Sonic's. Very light weight, and extremely durable. I have fished in North Carolina, and various parts of North Georgia and they have exceeded my expectations. I have also worn them on some moderately short hikes to get into the rivers and they are so light weight I forget I'm wearing them. They are worth the extra bucks. You won't be disappointed!!!!"

"I just got into a new pair of these for dropping into some spring creeks here in PA, and also up north in the colder creeks during the fall Steelhead run. These are great waders, and very comfortable and great for quick drops into some streams. Very comfortable, sizing is very true to the specifications set on the sizing guide before you purchase. I have bought many pairs, and for the price I do not think these can be beat. Sure, you can get into something a little better, but for the price and the overall versatility these cannot be beat."

"I’m very happy with these waders. If you’re looking for light weight chest high waders these should definitely be considered. I’ve worn them 3 times and they are perfect for fair weather spring creek fishing. It was in the 80’s today and I was comfortable."

"The salesman at my local Orvis store recommended these when I went shopping for a new pair of waders. The fit was almost custom on the the first try. I have used them several times and find them lightweight and comfortable. The neoprene booties are just loose enough to wear wool socks with them and the gravel guard is a nice feature too. Good job."

"I am hard to fit, yet these waders fit from top to toe. A baggy fit would be easier to put on, but less comfortable in use. They got four stars because they are too new to give that perfect rating. Orvis quality should earn that final star."

"I was debating between these waders and a pair of Simms. I decided to go with the Silver sonic because of the seam welding (vs. stitching). I have got to say that I am 100% impressed and happy with my purchase. They are very well made, and well though-out. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a full featured wader with out the price tag you'd pay for other high-end waders."

"Just rcvd My Silver Sonics in the Mail and They were noticeably Lightweight even before taking Them out of the Box..Tho They are a more Basic Wader as far as Pockets are concerned,(No Hand Warmer Pockets) I LOVE the SLIDE DOWN Feature while keeping the Straps buckled and over Your Shoulders. Though THIN and LIGHTWEIGHT, They "look" VERY WELL MADE!! Only thing to watch for is when Picking Your size! I am 5'10" and wear a size 9 1/2 or 10 Shoe and the size LARGE was MUCH too TALL, and BIG in the Foot!! If size chart says 9-11..Your gonna get an 11, so.. My guess is to order on the LOWER end of the Spectrum. Nice Waders tho!! Will be a GREAT choice for the summer months! So based on My Size and Height; I hope I can help get You Anglers the RIGHT FIT so You can get in the Water rather than going thru the whole RETURN THING.. Order smaller? It'd be a good idea to Inquire with Cust Service because those Suckers come up to My Chin..Good Luck and Catch one for Me!!"

"Orvis has outdone themselves. Ordered online using the sizing chart, and it was a perfect match. First time I used them, ended up in a brier patch without thinking. Not even a scratch on the waders. The best part is their breath-ability, which kept me cool, but at the same time insulated me from the cold waters."

"Bought these waders a few months ago. Went into the shop planning to buy the waders on sale and ending picking these up instead since they fit so good. Took them surf casting in Cambria last week for the first time. Was not disappointed. Stayed warm and dry and really like how you can lower the top to make it like a pant wader. I'm 6'2" 190 lbs (12 shoe) and the long medium size fits good. Nice fitting, not overly baggy like my old waders ...I typically just wear a bathing suit or shorts under my waders."

"Just got my Orvis Sonics a week ago and I've put them through a few 5+hour trips on some local streams.
So far I love them! They fit nicely, move with me comfortably, handle the thick brush of the Maine woods like champs.
The suspenders are great as well, quick and easy conversion. You don't even feel them on your shoulders whether up or down. Front belt loops for the wading belts is a huge plus as well.
They breath quite nicely. I was comfortable all day despite the rapid change in temps.
Highly recommend these waders to anyone"

"I'm not especially obese or out of proportion, so I don't understand the problem with their "fit". At 6-0 and 195#, I started off ordering the Large, and found that they were totally unusable, because of extremely snug fit in the calves and crotch area . . . couldn't even bend over to tie my shoe laces. Sent them back for the Large Long . . . a little improvement, but not much. I'll keep them but only as a back-up pair of waders . . . someone gave me a $200 gift certificate, otherwise I'd send them back all together. I've got all the rods, reels, spools, lines, flies that a person could possibly need. I only need waders . . . I wear them 125 days per year! Beware of the sizing! Don't even think you'll get a pair of "long johns" under your regular pants. It just won't happen."

"My wife gave me these for my birthday, and I was very happy with the appearance, fit and features. The very first trip they worked great as long as I was in water below my knee, but as soon as I got in hip deep, the right knee seam leaked. Cold, cold water and lots of it. I took them back to my fly shop for a refund. The fly shop guy tried to get me to try another pair, but I am leery. What kind of durability can I expect from a second pair if Orvis quality control cannot detect such a major initial defect? You have the Orvis warranty to fall back on, but is it worth it to have to hassle with returns and have more precious days of fishing ruined? This was my first pair of "premium" waders and the first pair I ever had that leaked first time out, right out of the box . I expect more from Orvis."

"i recently purhased a pair of silver sonic waders.my orvis waist hi waders after 8 years of service in trout water in pa, are still in exellent condition.but i wanted a more form fitiing bootie as that was easier to get into my wading shoes.old ones bunched up.even in my brogues.these new waders are better but there is still an issue with shoe fit.otherwise a 5 star product."

"First trip out with new sonic waders did not disappoint. Lightweight material and fits nicely. The convertible top is nice for spring weather when it is cool inthe morning and warm in the evening. Several nice features to include boot guards, removable water tight bag for phone and Easton suspenders system. Best of all...dry as a bone at the end of the day!"
