"I purchased a hat from Gum in Moscow which was very expensive.
When I got it back to UK the quality was very poor. When I saw your advert for a Shearling Hat i bought it and I am delighted.

"This is a great quality hat, the only problem is...not got one to fit yet....I opted for the small as per online advice, going by my cap size. But because of the sheepskin on the inside, so far the medium has proved too small also, now awaiting large!!"

"The picture shows rounded ends to the chin straps. The hat arrived with sharp cornered straps. I had to change the Large size, which was more than 1 inch larger than stated and floated very loosely, for a medium size which is somewhat tight. The front visor is sewn back rather than being snap fastened and so cannot be lowered in adverse weather conditions."

"I really needed a very warm "flaps down" Nerd Hat for a trip to Germany in February. This hat is designed so cleverly that you always have the "nerd option" at hand, while at other times, the hat looks like a warm, Russian-style fur hat. Very comfortable being a "secret Nerd!""

"Once had a genuine Russia Ushanka which I traded for a carton of cigarettes on the Berlin Corridor in the late 70's. Best hat I ever owned - had to wait until the deep mid winter for it to be comfortable to wear. This hat is similar in that quality - it is really warm. Sadly I had to return the original which I ordered Large because that is my size. It must have been measured over the outside of the hat because it perched on the top of my head and could not be squeezed on because of the thickness of the shearling. Sent it back for an Extra Large which fits. The depth of the crown is minimal and could be a bit more generous in depth; that old Ushanka was. I won't be sending it back but it isn't quite perfect. Good quality shearling."

"I am extremely impressed with the quality, style and workmanship of this shearling hat. The shearling is beautifully dyed and is very plush. The hat was made in Winnipeg, Canada and is ideal for cold weather wear. It runs small, so order a size LARGER than you normally wear."

"This is a very well-made hat. I may have to return it, though, for a larger size. It has more fleece (toasty warm, I'm sure) than the previous shearling hat I bought years ago, so this new one will have to be one size larger. Also, this new one has the forehead piece sewn on sturdily whereas the old one was glued on and flopped off with wear. The fleece on the previous hat, though, was smoother whereas this one has fluffy fleece; maybe that is to insulate more warm air., but it is rather irksome."

"The workmanship is top notch as are the materials. The shearling is very soft and quite warm, withstanding some very windy and very cold Idaho days. Flaps up or down, my head stays warm like never before. It has also gotten many compliments on its appearance. I am thoroughly satisfied."
