"This vest is beautifully made (all the way around) of top-grade bison leather and is lined with a handsome hearty wool. You'll appreciate these two elements just pulling it out of the box.
The bison should last forever, the grain is very handsome and the tailoring is spot-on, but it is more than I need for casual wear over a sweater. Living in the northeast, we either need a full coat with sleeves or a lighter vest for winter comfort and because of that temperature dilemma, I hesitated, but decided to return it."

"I recieved a lambskin muintions vest for Christmas but did not like the fit.
Sent it back to Orvis to see if the Coranado vest might have a better fit for me. It fits perfect and the leather is excellent quality. Yes it is pricey but once I saw the workmanship and quality it is worth the money."

"I wanted a waistcoat that would last forever and be a constant companion. This Bison leather feels like it will last well and feels and looks great. I chose it to be on the small side when I read the reviews that in general Orvis products tend to be cut generously, and was glad that I did. I want to wear it under coat/fleece etc not over, and also use it in the warmer weather as a 'carry all' over a shirt.
Several of my friends have commented on how good it looks and I love wearing it. Definitely worth every penny."

"This is my fourth Coronado Leather Vest. I wear a size 48 and ordered a size 48. The vest fits perfect. From the top of the collar to the bottom of the vest is 28" (on size 48). I knew I was going to get a quality made leather vest and was not disappointed. One inside pocket has a zipper and the other two are open at the top. Plus, there is an inside pocket for a writing instrument. The blue/green plaid liner is a plus. At least two reviewers commented on the weight of the vest. I guess this would fall under personal preference. Since I have three other Coronado Vests, I was not surprised by the weight. I do not feel the vest as being heavy, however, it's personal preference and I respect their comments. The Bison Leather has a beautiful texture and grain. The stitching, zipper and stainless steel snaps are quality features. The engraved eagle heads on the snaps are beautifully done. This vest was worth every penny and I am so glad I made the purchase. BTW, Customer Service at Orvis is second to none."

"This vest is extremely well made with plenty of pockets and a warm fabric lining that makes this a great vest for cold days. Overall the vest is a tad heavy due to the weight of the bison leather but the bison leather is not only attractive but very rugged."

"I am a vest lover particularly when they are well made and have adequate internal and external pockets. This one is well designed and well made. The only negative is the weight. I was taken back by how heavy it is and continue to ponder its return."
