Among the finest of all natural fibers, merino insulates while still breathing exceptionally well—all without itching the way coarser wool can. Our zip-front cardigan pairs well with anything from a tee shirt to a shirt and tie. Soft, durable English Ratcatcher moleskin elbow patches and pocket trim. Washable. "This item was fine apart from reverse zip fastening but also Having now worn it at an event I found the pockets are very shallow and can't even keep a mobile safe, sorry! but that's how it is. Needs deeper pockets!!"

"I bought this for my husband's birthday, and he loves it. He has a Fisherman's Cardigan from Orvis that I got him several years ago, and it still looks good, but he likes this one better because the merino wool is so much softer than the wool in the older sweater. The fit is true to size, and it is a refined looking sweater."

"I mostly did not like the fit. At 6 feet 230 pounds, I ordered the XXL. The body fit well, but the sleeves were long and baggy. The arm patches were mostly on my forearm. The patches look cheap. Not very flattering. Unlike most of what I buy at Orvis, I felt like I had paid too much. Most of my Orvis clothes instantly become my most favorite, but this was returned on the same day it was received. In the mail as I type. Given a better fit and leather patches I might have bitten the bullet and kept it, but still would have felt like I paid too much. I appreciate Orvis' consumer friendly return policy."

"very comfortable and and easy to get on and off. Wool fabric does adhere to other garmets like some of the synthetics. large is my standard size but was to large, exchanged for medium and it fits wonderfully. Highly recommend for a "go to" outer garmet."

"It's a Christmas present for my husband. When he tried it, he said nice & comfy. But it was only few minutes. I hope that when he uses it in his office, he would love it & still thinks the same way. The feature that we like the most is that it's made of wool & the elbow patches. It would be warm & usually elbows are the parts that easily worn out."

"Daddy likes the sweater. Only issue was trying to order it on speaker phone and (very nice) Orvis person was obviously instructed to SELL more stuff. Did not know when to back off when Daddy started getting cranky. So I ended up trying to get her to stop selling and him to stop yelling at her. Esp. the credit card push!"

"The patches were glued on looking artificial leather stuff that didn't live up to the Orvis things I'd ordered in the past. We were quite disappointed. My son was going to return it and swap for something else at Orvis The cost was such that we expected a much better quality item. Hopefully this has now been exchanged for something my son will enjoy. I have not heard if he has received what he was interested in swapping this item for"
