Ventile Hunting Jacket
Unquestionably the greatest breathable, waterproof upland hunting jacket ever made. Thoughtfully constructed and cut from the world's best hunting fabric— Ventile, a cotton fabric that runs the gauntlet of briars and thorns without a snag, yet can efficiently transport moisture vapor away from your body to keep you cool. All stress points are bar-tacked, and all seams are double stitched with side seams "rear-facing" to reduce wear. Six exterior and two interior pockets. In khaki. Imported.Size: XXL(50-52).

"I first must qualify my comments by saying I'm not a bird hunter and bought this coat for it's looks and waterproof-ness.
That said, it's a very good looking jacket that can be worn over a sports coat and tie for dressier occasions, but it also looks great with a casual shirt and jeans. It's perfect for cooler weather and with a sweater underneath in cold and wet weather it's perfectly warm and dry. I've wanted a Ventile jacket and the fabric does not disappoint--it's beautiful. One of the great features of the fabric is it's quiet, especially compared to some of my technical waterproof ski and fishing shells.
I like this jacket as well as anything in my closet--and that says a lot!

"COAT IS NOT AT ALL LIKE 3 I BOUGHT YEARS AGO FOR SON,SON IN LAW,AND ME.THIS NEW ONE HAS NO QUAIL POCKET FOR BIRDS IN BACK,LESS SHELL HOLDERS,SMALLER DIAMETER ARMS ,TIGHTER IN SHOULDER AREA FOR SHOOTING.NOW AN EXPENSIVE WEAR AROUND TOWN COAT . .MY GRANDSON WILL BE VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT HE DOES NOT GET A LIFETIME QUAIL COAT LIKE HIS DAD OR GRANDDAD."

"I received the "Ventile Hunting Jacket" as a recent gift. I have yet to use it for it's intended purpose, which is upland bird hunting. I've been looking to replace my old, worn out and heavy waxed cotton hunting coat and this so-called hunting jacket, made with ventile cotton, looked like it would fill the bill.
However, the version of this jacket I received has no rear game pocket. (Apparently, a former version had a built-in game pocket. Why this feature was eliminated remains unexplained). Further, although the outside bellows pockets will carry plenty of loose shells, there are no loops to secure them.
With no place to carry game or even stash a couple of water bottles, this jacket cannot stand alone for upland hunting and makes something like a strap vest an essential accessory.
Though it lacks practical features, the jacket looks rich, is comfortable and appears well constructed. I take a 46 regular and my size 'large' allows for limited layering of a sleeveless vest over a light to medium shirt. The sleeves of this jacket are not big enough around to allow for a heavy shirt or sweater without binding an average man's arms.
I could not recommend this jacket to a friend except as an over-the-top "barn coat"."

"I bought my coat before this season opened and haven't taken it off. Absolutely the most functional hunting coat I've ever owned, and undoubtedly the most comfortable. The game pocket is easily cleaned, shells are always ready and the hand warmers truly keep hands warm. I wear mine every day as a top coat to a suit or for a quick run to the store, it just feels right.I'm buying another one...for my son."

"This jacket is one of the finest jackets I have ever worn hunting. Whether hunting for grouse or quail this jacket just doesn’t quit. I have worn this jacket through the toughest of cover without feeling a briar even once and during the nastiest of weather without getting wet. This jacket might have a high price tag but the money you spend on this jacket won't compare to what it is really worth."
