County Donegal Tweed Pants
Get the distinctive salt-and-pepper look and warmth of robust, 12.5-oz. pure wool Donegal tweed in these plain front pants. Our master tailors incorporate all the details you require, including full lining for a comfortable fit, along with faux-leather trim on the side-seam pockets and button-through back pockets. Plain front pants in pure wool tweed. Belt not included. Polyester/cotton lining. Dry clean. Imported.Even waist sizes 32-46. Cuffed up to 34" or plain finished up to 35" at no extra charge.

"These wool tweed pants are well made, with quality details. The substantial waistband, with two button fastening insures a great fit and gave a firm foundation for the suspender buttons I added.
They were very well received on the 28 April 2013 Providence, RI, Tweed Ride."

"They are "the" winter in and out pants especially when attending a winter casual event. They work well when standing about the fireplace or wood stove while taking red wine with friends who are energy sensitive users of their shelters."

"Since re-locating to Vermont, my husband has been "short" of warm, good-looking dress trousers. I decided to check the Orvis site and ordered the Donegal Tweed Pants for him. I liked the fact that the trousers could be ordered with a specific inseam.
Once they arrived, my husband tried them on and they fit perfectly. He was very pleased, as was I."

"Its a long time since I have ordered real trousers and I was a bit worried about doing this online. Orvis however lived up to its reputation and these tweeds are made well and fit well.
I will have to see how I get on with the length, perhaps I will get them taken up an inch. [ Or it might just be a question of finding the right shoes,Orvis's Vintage Brogues would suite well but alas they don't do them in a 14].
I do like the pocket trim, a nice feature.
The fabric in the sales photos looked a bit dull but I hoped for a more lively tweed in reality, and I was duly rewarded, very nice fabric; I love the random colours. I noted however that other reviewers were disappointed to discover the bright pin points of colour. Orvis need to give good close ups of these sort of fabrics to do them justice.
At six two,and Rugby Player build, I would have preferred a bit more generous leg width.
None the less I expect to be buying more of these.
I notice the Orvis ladies catalogue has jackets in these tweeds, so why not tweed jackets for men as well; with leather elbow patches and cuff reinforcement. The very thing I have been looking for for ten years. Come on Orvis you can do it ."

"I have bought trousers from Orvis before and was frankly disappointed with the fit. These trousers however, could have been tailor made. The fit was excellent and the material has a beautiful hand. They are warm but the lining stops any annoying woolly itch. I will be ordering a second pair, any chance of you making a jacket to match?"

"Pros: Extremely warm, downright hot fabric. Very thick. Very attractive and very rugged.
Problems: The pants I got are cut very strange. One panel is larger than the other (left leg is larger than right) and the pants pull weird. The are also smaller than some of the other Orvis pants I have. The fit almost an entire size smaller than what they're labeled. I'm going to take them to the store and see if they all fit that way, or if I got a defective pair."

"Warm trousers and very "smart" with the leather trim on the pockets. Fit is great and the length is what was ordered.
One recommendation would be to make them with "expandable" waist since they will probably last for a long time and am not getting any younger....................."

"This is a wonderful pair of trousers. As soon as I received them, I knew they would last for years. Quality items in the long run cost you less, because they last and never go out of style. The full lining makes them extremely comfortable, and I love the texture. Will still be wearing in a decade (assuming I don't put on too much weight)."

"If you are like me cotton pants will not get you through the winter. Cotton holds the damp next to your legs. And if you are like me, synthetic fabrics are not appreciated. So that leaves wool. Just try to find good wool pants, next to impossible. Thank you Orvis for bringing us a selection of well made reasonably priced wool pants! Much appreciated."

"I bought these pants for my husband for his birthday but I knew he'd want to wear them immediately so I gave them to him 2 weeks prior! He loves them! He likes the material, the fit is perfect for him and the lining is nice and heavy. They are a well made pair of pants! He likes the country look of the Donegal tweed and also likes the camel color leatherette on the pockets. He plans on wearing them for Thanksgiving with a camel color cashmere sweater. He has already worn them to work with a sport coat and likes the fact that they are warm. These pants were the perfect gift for him!"

"These are nice pants, but they are a tight fit. I bought these pants and the moleskins, both were 46's, the moleskins fit these did not. Not crazy about the fake leather on the pockets."
