Two years in design and development and with a powerful inline, Rulon to stainless, stacked disc drag that can hold its own with high-performance machined reels, the all new Clearwater Large Arbor cassette fly reel costs significantly less than its machined cousins, but has not only the looks, but the guts of a higher-priced version. Easily converted to either left or right hand retrieve, the Clearwater has a positive click drag knob for consistent settings every time. The innovative cassette offers extreme versatility and allows the angler to switch to the correct rig quickly and easily. Great performance, excellent versatility, and an incredibly low price. Cassette fly reel comes with two spare spools and a Cordura® reel case.

"I bought this reel with the intent to use it with my spey rod but due to the line I have(airflow sagit 570gr) does not work with it. I have not used it yet and intend to use it with an 8 wt line. I do like the fact that it comes with 2 spare spoils along with one in it."

Get the other Clearwater IV,
December 11, 2012
"I returned the one I got and purchased the other Clearwater IV and an extra spool for almost the same cost. The cassette sits pressure fitted to the reel by rubber O-ring. The O-ring didn't seem thick enough and the cassette wouldn't stay seated. I didn't even put a line on it yet and it came loose and was scraping against the wall of the reel."

"The drag is very impressive for the price and the reel feels smooth when winding in and when a fish runs !! As long as you don't drag the reel through the mud and stones the anodized finish should last for some time."
